I am starting a new thread to track cases from NVC - embassy to GC.
The best news for RN in China, Phillippines and India has been great and informative thread, but I think it is more appropriate and convenient if we start a new thread.
Also with the rapid scheduling of interviews for most of us, I am looking beyond the CP and anticipating the GC!
The August interview schedules are out already in India, and recently in the Philippines and hopefully in China.
Here is my case details

NVC case completed : May 16, 2005
Consular Interview : August 29, 2005

we're approaching our 10th week of waiting.
:)
can i butt in? i just want to know from your end if how many months yet of waiting until i get my ds 230, since my case (1-140 ) is now at USCIS (nebraska). Based on my portfolio it was last updated 01/03/06 . I was given also my receipt number ( LIN # XXXXXXXXXX.) is this packet 2 already? can u give me a rough estimation of our final interview in Manila? thanks & more power to you all.

Ther are no more Packet 1 and 2. Packet 3 is renamed as "Instruction package for Immigrant visa applicants" and Packet 4 is renamed as "Appoinment package for Immigrant visa applicants." Most of us use the term Packet 3 and 4 up to now because it is easy to remember and explain.
Thank you so much suzanne and rep for elucidating me on these matters. Based on my understanding, (correct me if I'm wrong), I have to monitor now from time to time through my portfolio if USCIS has finally approved my I-140 & they will send me the bill, so upon payment, they send the ds230 & to be forwarded to NVC for approval. That's the time to gather all my original papers, and bring it during the interviews at the embassy. Is this true rep, my kababayan, that by August 2006, We will be in the US already? You know, Rep, I prefer to use "packets" which is our common by word coz' it clearly outlines the 4 stages if what is now the status of our case. By the way, how fast is Nebraska in terms of processing? Again, Thank you suzanne & rep for your outright response. Regards & God bless.
From the date your I-140 was filed, count around 15 months to 24 months. With the processing delays and backgrounds checks it is impossible to fly to the U.S. with an approved immigrant petition in less than 12 months. well that is ofcourse you have a visa screen certificate and priority dates for nurses are current!

1. USCIS receives and later on approves the petition
2. Approved Petition will be sent to NVC
3. NVC creates a case number MNL********** then sents you a fee bill
4. Pay the fee bill, they will sent you a DS230
5. Submit all requirements, NVC reviews your docs, if its ok issues Packet 4
What is your priority date? With the processing delays and background checks here in the Philippines it would be impossible to fly to the U.S. in less than 12 months with an approved employment based immigrant petition>>> THAT IS A MYTH by recruitment agencies.
Time estimate the fastest would be 14 months, the normal is 18 to 24 months on the average that is ofcourse if you have a visa screen certificate, met and paid all the requirements and PRIORITY DATES FOR SCHEDULE A NURSE ARE STILL CURRENT and MAIL/ DOCUMENTS were not lost. Because sometimes documents were sent somewhere else so you have to monitor your case all the time with your agency and with your lawyer/employer.
