I am starting a new thread to track cases from NVC - embassy to GC.
The best news for RN in China, Phillippines and India has been great and informative thread, but I think it is more appropriate and convenient if we start a new thread.
Also with the rapid scheduling of interviews for most of us, I am looking beyond the CP and anticipating the GC!
The August interview schedules are out already in India, and recently in the Philippines and hopefully in China.
Here is my case details

Does anybody have a phone number I can call to speak to a "live" person at USCIS to ask about my petition? I keep getting the automated service and want to check my status. I've checked online but sometimes this service is not up to date. I want to ask if they have received the visa bill payment from my Attorney.
Thanks,
Tina
hi. can anybody answer my questions pls? I have mailed NVC on November 17 to ask on the status of my application. They said they have received it on october 31... Is it ok to email them again this soon?? i would like to ask them for any progress on my application, whether or not the fee bill has already been paid.. with october 31 as the receipt date of my application in NVC, when do you think will I receive my packet 4? how long will I have to wait before I finally get interviewed? thank you.

No problem if your going to email them every month. Once you submit your ds-230 forms, it would normally take betwen two to three months to have an apointment date if visas are current.

Its basically the same number. along with the automated system there is an option for talking to an officer. I guess u have to dial no."9".
my NVC case was completed on 4th October and forwarded to the US Embassy in Dublin on theb13th of October. I received a letter from the embassy on the 11th of Nov. asking me to send them a copy of my visa screen. A copy was sent to them on the same date but I haven't heard from them since. Am I suppose to receive a call or a letter from them?

Gwapo,
That is an NVC case number. Since your case was moved to NVC, NVC assigns you a number. It is usually MNL because the consul that would handle your case is U.S. Embassy Manila, 2005 is the year it was created. The next three numbers is the julian date (for example 841 {less 500} that would be 341 or november 7. The next three digits is the order of cases that was created on that day.

In the packet 4 or appointment letter, there is an instruction written there in case yo can make it to the appoinment date. It tells you to call them and to reschedule your interview. It also says that you can reschedule at least month later.
Regarding the "walk-in applicants, during the interviewed and you were not able to present complete documetns you are required to go back and submit your lacking document to a certain window at the US Embassy. Or in some cases, they will notify you at a certain date to have another interview with you bringing the document.
You need to have your medical at least week before the interview to give time if some problems arise. There are cases which I have observed during our medicals that there were some applicants who received their packet 4 near their interview date , they were instructed by St Lukes to bring the results on the day of the interview. Usually it is the medical facility who will submit the results to the embassy.
So, if you are going to have your date reschedule then it is also wise not to undergo the medical unless you have the date already.
For TSE, usually a month or two.
