I am starting a new thread to track cases from NVC - embassy to GC.
The best news for RN in China, Phillippines and India has been great and informative thread, but I think it is more appropriate and convenient if we start a new thread.
Also with the rapid scheduling of interviews for most of us, I am looking beyond the CP and anticipating the GC!
The August interview schedules are out already in India, and recently in the Philippines and hopefully in China.

That is an NVC case number. Since your case was moved to NVC, NVC assigns you a number. It is usually MNL because the consul that would handle your case is U.S. Embassy Manila, 2005 is the year it was created. The next three numbers is the julian date (for example 841 {less 500} that would be 341 or november 7. The next three digits is the order of cases that was created on that day.

what does julian date means?? in your reply, how does 341 become november 7 (i understand this is just an example) ? any significance on that date? what does these two 3-digit numbers signify? will these tell the date of my interview??
suzanne, hi. i hope you can answer my questions. I have emailed NVC regarding the status of my application. they said documentation on this case was received on October 31, 2005. Can you give me an approximated time frame as to when will I have my interview? I am from the philippines.
after the interview, how long does the visa gets into your hand ( being positive that i will be granted of it)? Once i have the visa, how soon can I leave for the US?
I already have an NVC case number, does that mean that the fee bill has already been paid?
Julian calendar is based on the calendar that was used back in the days of Julius Ceasar, it is just a way of formatting.
Right now it is holiday season, and no matter what anyone tells you, full work production doesn't get accomplished during that time. You are probably looking at mid-Spring. Can't give you a specific date due to the holidays in SE Asis that will also be coming up, and the Embassy will be locsed for.
Great news for you. When are you flying over? And where will you be working?
I will be going to Newyork. My hospital has an orientation program every alternate month. So the next is on feb... I will be leaving mostly by the end of Jan.
hi guys. I called up NVC earlier today to check on the status of my application. then as I entered mu nvc case number, it said " case completed on december 19, 2005". I was told to wait for 8 weeks for the next instruction. What shall I expect 8 weeks from now?? now that it has been completed, what will be the next activity of my application?

as what we're doing right now. our case was completed OCT25, and we're still being advised to wait for the next notice (entering the 8th week).
next big step is waiting for packet 4, which is the notice for medical and consular interview.
if those cases that were approved last september are being scheduled for a january interview, i guess ours will be some time february.
you can infer your timing from that (probably march '06 consular interview), gwapo.
