I am starting a new thread to track cases from NVC - embassy to GC.
The best news for RN in China, Phillippines and India has been great and informative thread, but I think it is more appropriate and convenient if we start a new thread.
Also with the rapid scheduling of interviews for most of us, I am looking beyond the CP and anticipating the GC!
The August interview schedules are out already in India, and recently in the Philippines and hopefully in China.
Here is my case details
Category : EX Schedule A
USCIS receipt : April 2004
Processing Center : Vermont

NVC case completed : May 16, 2005

God bless!
hi to everyone! need some help here.just want to ask which comes first, the sending of the visa fee bill or the ds230? quite confused coz last year before the july VB fiasco, my agency asked for an updated ds230, now ive checked my status at NVC via email and they are telling me to wait for the packet to arrive regarding the visa fee increase.thanks for your inputs. btw, my pd is march 2005.
hi, bulakeña!
i think visa fee bill was asked first before ds-230 was sent to me. i don't think we are part of the increase in visa fee since we were not covered by that when we paid the fee...well, but i could be wrong.
i called the NVC automated response and it said, "...missing and incomplete....NVC mailed a letter last August 2006..." here we go again...
hello leis23 and fruity, my PD is current now and this is the same message (missing and incomplete, blah blah) that I have been hearing since My PD become current and until now,it's still the same message I've been hearing even if my name has been declared as documentarily qualified last Aug 2007. However, NVC has requested me again to submit an updated DS230 last March and it was forwarded by my agency only last week so no updates yet.Like you, I also got confused. (But my opinion is, I think your PD will be current soon, hopefully).

Visa fee bill comes first. Your situation can only be explained by two reasons. One is human error on NVC Staff or your agency hasn't really paid the visa fee bill previously. Once someone paid the visa fee bill, they will not be affected by future fee increases anymore. If you want to know the truth, you can ask NVC directly if a visa fee bill has ever been paid before.
thank you guys! I really need to ask my agency regarding this matter. I've been waiting for this for quite a long time now.To those with current/2005 PDs, thank you for your inputs here. It helps a lot. God Bless.
I would ask NVC directly first if a visa fee bill was ever paid for previously before asking your agency.
Hi guys,Just called NVC, automated message changed to " visa fee bill received August 2006, wait for further instructions in the next couple of weeks...."
What does this mean? Will they ask new forms?
Maybe. Do you have any documents such as the NBI Clearance that has recently expired?
This also proves to one of our new member here that once a visa fee bill has been fully paid already, they do not ask for any additional fees anymore even if there will be fee increases down the road.

My NBI will expire on June, though I am preparing the docs now if ever they will ask for it.... Its not really a problem to update all these again, what worries me is that if we ran out of time since it will take time to review our docs again, like what happened last year and ended up with the dates go back and again being stuck at NVC.

If nothing is expiring soon, and everything they need to close out the case is with them, I think they can complete it before your clearance will expire.
I think I have heard some reports before that you can also give a new NBI clearance in the embassy/consulate if it expires by that time but not yet at the time that it was still at NVC.
Overall, I think it's good news. Goodluck and keep updating us in this thread.

hi fruity!
don't worry. at least our case is moving again. let's just send an updated ds-230 and the documents..then, wait and see again. we've been there..so, we should be used to it. :-)
