Nursing 2009 vs American Journal of Nursing

Published

I was just wondering which one was the more preferred nursing journal? I want to subscribe to one, mostly for CEU's, but also for nursing information and I just wanted to get some opinions on what each journal offered. I don't want to spend $70 to subscribe to both!

Nursing 2009, I think is alot better. I think that you would get more out of it. More interesting.

I have a subscription to Nursing 2009, American Journal of Nursing, and Nursing Made Incredibly Easy. Personally, I like Nursing Made Incredibly Easy so much more! They also have CEU's within their mag. They seem to have just way more interesting articles. They also take a certain topic that may be a rather difficult one and describe it down to the easiest terms for us, nurses, to understand it better. Check out that magazine and see if you like that one better.

i have been criticized for this before, but oh well....when i bothered to subscribe i tried both and let AJN go first...way more political.....less actual hands on knowledge.....so..depending on what you are looking for.....

I have had Nursing 2009 forever and a day. I really enjoy it. AJN used to be sent automatically when I was a member of the union. Didn't enjoy it as much, and didn't appreciate the political bias that was evident.

Now the union has a different journal, and it has the same horn tooting ANA self-congratulatory, vote for Obama stuff I didn't like in the AJN. Fortunately at my new job union membership is optional.

Personally I believe it is a good thing to get more than one in order to compare and to see what trends there are in the profession.

I liked Incredibly Easy the BEST! And, Nursing2009 (or whatever year) is a close second.
