Nursing Student In Need of Interview Volunteer

Hello everyone, Im a nursing student who is just doing her first semester of prerequisites, the reason I am making this post is for one of my classes. I have a project that requires me to study a community of my choosing, and I have chosen this one. For my project I need to interview someone from the group I have chosen and talk about how the community communicates with each other, why you have chosen this community, etc. If you are someone who is willing to help me please let me know! This is a huge project and grade for me. I am also not able to do private messages on this site yet, sadly. But thank you if you took the time to read this

Choosing an online nursing community is not what I think the instructors had in mind. If interviewing nurses is what you want to do, I’d think you’d at least want to know for a fact that you were speaking with an actual nurse (name/title on badge visible).

People lie. Case in point: my coworker proclaimed to be a straight A student in the ASN program, but entered the BSN program on academic probation due to a low GPA, claiming the reason was that not all of her credits were accepted. I was supposed to be too dumb to know that even if ALL of the A’s were not accepted, she should have still had a 4.0 GPA if every ‘accepted’ course taken ended with an A. She also claimed to be 15 years my nursing senior when a quick state license search proved just the opposite. (She should be a politician, but that’s a whole other thread).

She may be lurking on these threads and it’d just be your luck that she’d agree to the interview.

Be careful and good luck!

Welcome to AN. I usually tell newcomers to select anonymous screen names here. Too many folk read and are NOT nurses.  Employers and school admin also read here. Better to be safe under the radar re your identity.

Good luck to you.

If I were you, you should ask professors or instructors from your school or from the nursing schools in your city or neighborhoods. Call first. I'm sure you will find instructors who are happy to help you.  Perhaps, if emails are allowed to ask them questions, you should email them with your school email. They'll reply if they feel safer that you aren't a pseudonursingstudent. You should know your instructor's phone number and email address. Ask your instructor's permission first. If you can share these to the volunteers are likely to participate with your project. Too many scammers these days.

Hi, I suppose my post was a little unclear. Im not necessarily looking for a nurse to interview im just looking for a member of the community to interview. I won't really be asking questions about nursing itself, My questions will be asking why the individual decided to join this community, how do you feel the people communicate with each other, does the individual feel that the admins and owners of the community do  a good job of making sure people follow rules and respect each other, questions along those lines. My project is about studying people in a discourse community and how they communicate. So I don't need a nurse just someone whos preferably been in the community for awhile and knows more or less how the members communicate. And their opinions about it. So sorry if my post was hard to understand, Im not the best at explaining things...

Thank you for the advice!

You can actually utilize search engines for those communities you're looking for. You can also call your school or nursing school without being in the program and ask them where you can find one.

What kind of 'community' is it that you're looking for?

Is Allnurses considered a 'community' like you're seeking members?
