You made it past the title! Congrats. That was a bit too direct.
So I want to go into nursing or medicine. I have no idea how it will be like but I've already completed pre-med pre reqs and spent some years after college working office jobs and It. My core motivations are wanting to interact with people and apply my technical skills/make a difference, and not be chained to a desk, also pay and the fact that nursing field is broad and I would be able to change specialties. Cons are that I don't like the hospital environment and I get stressed out easily, which leads me to hate people. (I've only shadowed someone several times and was not in the best place at the time) I admire that they make a difference but they look hella stressed out the whole time and I don't know if I can take it or if it worth it.
Any advice for someone in my position? Are there any jobs that would be suitable that would be in a relatively decent environment and have a combination of office and patient interaction time? Thanks!

that link is making me laugh so hard!
Especially the "When RubyVee likes my post on allnurses"!
Didn't have anything going on today, so I read the mini-series........you have a talent in drawing buyers in and getting them to purchase (or sign up for)...You could possibly have a great career at QVC or any kind of multi level marketing.

"Hello guys, I'm looking to doing a three-part mini-series on prepping for the NCLEX-RN on the CHEAP. There are lots of passing NCLEX posts, but none actually touch on the actual exam experience, which is the purpose for this mini-series.
MATERIALS USED
1) Saunders Comprehensive 5th ed
2) ATI Practice Questions (our Nrsg program uses ATI—ahem...a ripoff...)
3) Kaplan Q-Trainers
-All QT's found freely
4) Nursinglab.com
-Free NCLEX-RN questions and reviews
5) The 35-page NCLEX notes floating around here.
6) Allnursingnotes, Medcram, Empowern (utube channels)"

I am seeing only Saunders (old edition at the time of writing) to be in need of paying (ATI/HESI a Nrsg program requirement).
You failed in accusing me of authoring a book (Extra Pickles proved you wrong).
You are failing to associate me with Sales or any kind of multi level marketing.â€
So Janey496, statistics is in your favor of failing to accuse me of a third time.
And in the spirit of AN, why not step back and try to distinguish between what I am actually saying and what you wish me to be saying?

You are doing it wrong; as it is, you are concurring with whatever is said in "What I Learned This Week"--not a thoughtful position to take, be it in life or in a professional capacity.
This is how you do it properly:
"I wrote Passing California NCLEX-RN in 60 Questions Mini-Series, so you can expect brutal honesty."
This implies that my mini-series contain 'brutal honesty' and said 'brutal honesty' will be applied such and such.

I wish you to be saying I can have a pony. And my graduate plus post graduate education will be free. Plus I can have an additional stipend so I can drop down to 50% at work while I finish said education.

I actually AM concurring with my WILTW posts. That's what makes it an engaging and thoughtful thread to be part of, personally and professionally. You should go troll that thread instead. It's a bit more acceptable there than here, where a genuine person had a genuine question.

I don't understand. I was saying that I recognize a talent that you have.
I wish you to be saying I can have a pony. And my graduate plus post graduate education will be free. Plus I can have an additional stipend so I can drop down to 50% at work while I finish said education.
I want my grad education to be free too. . Why doesn't anyone want to give me a giant scholarship just based on kinda hoping I'll be really good at my job after?
...where a genuine person had a genuine question.
Duly noted.
My apologies OP for temporarily hijacking your post. But what a man to do when facing unfounded accusations?
"Research or Informatics is what I had as my end goal"--as long as you enjoy what you do, sky does look bluer, grass greener. Good luck.
I am responding before reading anyone's comments.
I get stressed out easily, which leads me to hate people.Any advice for someone in my position?
My advice is that you first gain insight into who you are, Gogol.
We tend to say we "hate" the perceived cause of an emotional discomfort, when actually we are negatively responding to our own actions in any given situation.
For example, if we deal well with a stressor, we feel good about ourselves. If we deal poorly with a stressor, we experience an uncomfortable emotional response and subsequently have a tendency to place blame on the stressor.
It's always easier to place blame than to do a self examination and work our way through a situation in order to attain a higher consciousness.
Hence, chances are, Gogol, you do not hate people. You hate your limitations in adequately dealing with the stress you experience.
The best of luck to you in your endeavors, Gogol!

I'm guessing he (she?) means passing with 60 questions because 15 questions on every exam are supposed to be non-graded as they are being tested for future exams. Still all RN NCLEX test takers will answer 75 questions so making a big deal out of 60 seems very unnecessarily confusing.
And again *so many* people have posted their tips and tricks and experiences with NCLEX so not sure why one would find this "series" particularly interesting, unique, or "brutally honest."
