The College Network - Legit or Scam?

Nursing Students Online Learning

Hey, I recently just signed up for TCN a day ago. I have 2 more days until I can cancel my membership. I wanted to know your guys' opinion of the college network. From what the representative told me, it is accredited. They cover all your pre-reqs fee's(books, exam fee's, etc.). But what else is there that I dont know? Is this a legit program? I searched TCN reviews and I got this - http://the-college-network.pissedconsumer.com/the-college-network-is-a-scam-20080630125757.html

It's scaring the crap outta me. I was really excited to start this program but now I am second guessing it. Can someone please help me. I need to know soon before I won't be able to cancel my contract. Thanks

oh and does anyone know of any legit online LVN to BSN/RN courses? Thanks

Cancel ASAP. TCN is definitely not a good thing to be hooked into.

I filed a direct complaint with the AG's office where the College Network is, and I was not only let out of my contract, but was given a full refund of all that I had already paid.

Is it possible that you may share to me what your situation was? I hope that my situation is similar and am seeking any direction possible. Signing up with them was a BIG mistake. I have read so many disheartening comments with people stating that they are unable to null their contract. Any comment will be much appreciated! Thank you

Can you tell me what kind of complaint you filed so I know if I can even file a complaint against them? I would like to be refunded for the classes I have paid for. I am unhappy with their services.

Hi all! Is there any recommendable LPN to RN online programs?

Sweettartrn how did you go about doing that....I too joined and am seriously regretting it. My salesman failed to mention things that if I heard would never have joined.....help me!!!!

I post the following information with all respect; you need to contact an attorney rather than discussing your situation in a blog. The issue is there is an existing contract between you and TCN; you entered into the contract, were provided information about the services TCN will provie; and the cooling off time has ended. Now, if TCN specifically defrauded you or intentionally mislead you, then that may be a basis for terminating the contract. However, only an attorney can advise you.

The problem you are facing is something that we on AN have heatedly discussed. Some find TCN helpful and some do not. I am not a proponent of TCN but admit that it does have its benefits.

The college Network is a company that provides study materials. You can find the same online for much cheaper.

I must agree with sbuxdrinkr. Everything available through TCN can be obtained through study guides available from the testing units like CLEP and Dantes. The guides are much cheaper and they are actually closer to the actual exam than the TCN modules. One thing...unless you are real math whiz, I would take Stats (if you need it) at your local community college.

I used TCN for some pre-reqs. I liked the online power points. I would not use them for any math class, as it was not easy for me to self study intermediate algebra. Its a little pricey, feel free to message me for more info. Its not a scam though, its just one of many companies that have a cliff note style set up so you dont have to read the books. Also, I did ok on the exams, mainly c's and b's, and like other companies they dont have 100% of the info, you would need the texts for that. I use studygroup and Sheri Taylors stuff as well.

Hi Mudwoman,

I just called ISU today to check in, make sure everything was on track as I am currently doing prerequisites and Gen Ed through TCN to start ISU's LVN-BSN in Fall 2013. I am a CA resident and it turns out the program lost it's accreditation I spoke with TCN, they told me they are working on it. I was told I can't discontinue my contract with them. Any advice? Is this the same thing you went through as well? Thanks for any help!!

TCN is a scam, they get you to sign a contract and you end up paying all this money for nothing.
