Flunked out of WGU Rn to Bsn.

Just wondering if the Stats,Nutrition,Information Technology,and Humanities courses will transfer to some other school even though I did not complete the Degree program.

I failed the Biochem assessment 3 times and it was recommended I pursue the degree elsewhere,so this is why I am asking.

i more then likely will attend the Rn to Bsn program at a brick and motor school,as i learned that i need structure.

It is up to the individual school as to whether or not courses will be accepted for transfer. But is regionally accredited so the chances are good.

Just wondering ? Reviewed website, I believe they have mentors that help? Right? I've been contemplating going to this school, but every other program I've researched has online discussion boards :/....I really wish I could find an interactive program. Can you give me feedback on the WGU program ?

The course mentors for Bio were a trip.

All they did were refer me back to the course material.

I should have looked at other sources outside the Wiley material but they discourage that.

Btw,there are no discussion boards,and the videos were equally as confusing.

They do have Facebook groups though;that is the only reason i know a large % of students are not passing Biochem.

When i say large,i mean large........ 40%.

To be honest,Wgu really bombed with Biochemistry.

All other courses were fine up to that point.

Would you still recommend , or another more structured school, they seem to get awesome reviews , anyway to avoid Biochemistry. Biochemistry, is very hard at a regular even in class , I can just imagine...

Many of the awesome reviews about come from students who took the course before Biochem was re-structured.

With Wgu you have to be really self-disciplined.

I just finished my BSN at . The totally asynchronous format and no discussion boards were a definite plus for me. If you don't want to take biochem with WGU, take it at a community college and transfer it in, but any courses transferred in must be completed and transferred before you start the program. I definitely recommend WGU.

Thank you soo much :) For the advice, I dislike discussion boards, sounds great ! I'll just take my classes with them, I've contacted them already....only have to complete 37 units, hope that's NOT too many. I do have to take Biochemistry with them, though :/....any tips on that class ??

Great to hear you've decided to do this, you won't regret it. So for Biochem I would take my time with this course, it's not a course you want to rush through like some of them, especially if you don't feel knowledgeable about the subject. Email the course mentor when you start the course and sign up for any cohort webinars. Usually when you sign up for cohorts you get an email with lots of helpful info and links that you don't always find in your course of study. There are also FB groups that are very helpful. Once you get your email you can join. I was in RN-MSN but I joined both the BSN and MSN FB groups because when you start alot of your courses are at the undergrad level. Good Luck to you!!

Biochem IS a new format, but I see people celebrating success on it every day on the FB boards so it's not impossible.

Definitely take your time on that one.

I am a huge fangirl and am working on my MSN there after completing the BSN and MBA- the best part is it's mostly asynchronous (I think BSN students now have to take one class that has a timeframe), no group projects, no mandated discussion boards. And you can go at your own pace (fast or slow) as long as you complete your required 12 units.
