Nursing is like being a mechanic.

It's human nature that when we are in learning mode we try to diagnose everything and everybody. Who hasn't noted some stranger's bulging veins, the little old lady in the grocery line who has swollen ankles, the red faced overweight neighbor mowing his lawn? What's the diagnosis? And isn't a motorcycle pretty similar?

This is funny...

For me, nursing is like being a mechanic because nurses know how to put people "back together" so that people can keep moving through life.

Funny, I never thought of the similarities before. I am the "fixer-upper" handyman[handywoman] in our house. When something is broken, or needs to be installed it's me that does it and not my husband. He's all thumbs!
