Nursing 4600 Excellence Spring Session 2

Nursing Students Ohio University

The syllabus for this class was emailed yesterday. Most non-clinical assignments are DB items. Clinical looks fairly straightforward that culminates in a research paper. These are not clinicals in the classical sense of the word. Each week you are asked to submit a small assignment such as topic of choice (from several choices), outline, plan and final paper.

Looks like they paired down previous assignments for this class to accommodate the 'clinical' component. No quizzes. Only one book required and it is an easy read.

There was not a size 12. I will do that next time!! Why should it be our problem that OU's system is messed up? I'm affraid that I need as many points as I can get because I am so confused!! So Frustrating!!

I did the size 12 on my copy. I left the size alone on their end. I only changed the font to Times New Roman. Spacing looked funky when I pasted but I didn't touch it. When I hit submit, it corrected itself and looked perfect.

My time is valuable. I am more likely to make an error typing directly to the board. I'll take my chances of getting dinged for formatting over typos or other errors I would make typing directly onto the boards. Just my 2 cents.

They told us the same thing last quarter for 4600 to type directly into DB. I posted to TA I do not do that since I did not want to risk losing work. They did NOT dock for formatting. Copy and Paste!

Hey...you guys are awfully quiet on here. Really not much to report is there?!

That's always a good sign, isn't it? Lol. I did read an announcement today about "watching our tone" when sending the TA an email. Sounded like she must have received some rude emails from students. First time I've ever read an announcement like that.

Still waiting on grades for the indirect clinical assignment #1 from last week. I really need to know if I did it correctly before finishing the next assignment. Grading a little sooner would be very helpful but I know things don't usually work that fast at OU. Other than that, things are going smoothly. I read the announcement about "watching our tone" too. I've seen this a few times throughout the program.

Pay attention to blackboard. I posted DB1 and although it appeared that I did, the content was not there. So therefore I got a zero. TA is allowing me to submit again but I am going to be docked for points since I am late. In other words, I am being docked points due to blackboard issues.

Wow...never saw the tone announcement myself. Sounds like a bit of frustration for students in the program may be rearing its head.

I am so un-motivated that I am shooting for a B in these last few classes. I still do not have a final grade in 4600. My sister died suddenly in the middle of the 5 weeks during Excellence and it has taken all my steam, motivation and desire away. I did not mention it at the time. That was the reason why I did not post much on the thread.

Anyway...hope you all are doing well.

Oh EmJean, I am so sorry to hear about your sister. I can certainly understand your lack of motivation. You will get through these last classes and don't beat yourself up over B grades. I hope you feel better soon.

It's Friday morning and assignment #1 is finally graded. Now I feel confident that I am on the right track for the project and can proceed to assignment #2. How's everyone doing in this class so far? After the weekend we only have 3 more weeks!

I am so sorry for the loss of your sister EmJeanRN
