Nursing Diagnosis

Published

Hello nurses,

I need a list of Neonatal nursing diagnosis. I have to do 3 care plans and I don't know much about newborns.

I would appreciate your help, thank you.

We HAVE been helping you. You now know what NANDA is (which is a big step in becoming familiar with nursing diagnoses), and you know that the approved list of NDs is not that long, and should be in your nursing textbook (if not, you can find the list online), and it should not be difficult to find an appropriate ND for a newborn.

Was it so hard to tell me this instead of assuming that I am not a good student and I want people to do my work. I know that the best way to learn is to do your own work and I have done my own work for so long but when you get stuck it is better to ask. It is stupid to waste time over this.Anyway, thnx.

That's kind of what I did in my very first post when I suggested you google "NANDA"

You're welcome, I guess.

This was a very strange thread.

"Why give students answers, when they appear to be making no effort of their own? How does that help them? "

Because they can and because it makes them feel/look knowledgeable. Egos get boosted.

I'm absolutely convinced that this is the reason. I've tried to be charitable and look at it from others' points of view, but I always come back to believing that the responder wants to show their knowledge. There is a distinct lack of understanding of the potential to assist a student along the road to eventual failure because he/she has had online forum responders thinking for them. Or, equally important, because an instructor never figured out that a student was struggling due to the fact that others were doing their work and there was no need to engage with the instructor over poorly understood concepts.

There are at least 3 current posts asking for careplan help. I can't help but believe that students have seen proof they can get others to do their work for them. I can just imagine the word passing amongst nursing students...."Hey! At Allnurses.com, they'll give you the answers!"

Meanwhile, those of us who object are called "mean" :lol2: and submitted to the Giant List of Nurses Who Eat Their Young.

Look up NANDA. There are tons of books out there for nursing diagnoses and care plans. I already paid my homework dues...time to pay yours. I also suggest that you don't rant and rave at experienced nurses...hope you don't do that when your on the floor one day b/c it'll definitely work against you. And if you need help...it's called study group...form one...if you want to pass..form one. Good luck.

Is that trademarked? If not, it should be.

Healthstar, I must say that you have quite an unusual attitude for someone who is asking for help.

"Were you all super smart and knew it all when you were students? You learned NANDA and now that might be your best friend but you probably didn't know other things. "

"Was it so hard to tell me this ... "

"Calm down, get over it I said. If you don't want to help go and do something else. I am not going to die if you don't help me. "

"Stop acting like you are related to Einstein and stop assuming that people are stupid and can't read a page or 2."

"I had a feeling that some random negative person like XXXX would post here."

Ladies and gentlemen, we seem to have some seriously heated opinions on this subject. The girl asked a question. As rational adults, those of us that would like to respond to them should be able to and those that choose not to don't have to. Have you ever heard the saying that the only stupid question is the one you didn't ask. Some of us would be willing to respond to the question not to boost our own egos, but out of the desire to help. Remember, we are nurses. We care for others for a living. Even if one feels that it is detrimental to respond to student questions, it does not mean everyone does.

By the way, I have absolutely no peds experience and no pertinent info to share on that subject, but would like to encourage student to continue her research and don't be discouraged. Good luck on your assignment.

If I new it would be such a bother I wouldn't even post. I am 99% of the time a very nice person but some miserable people enjoy making other people miserable, overloaded with negative energy. So I got out of character. I am so used to helping people and I also made the mistake of "assuming" that everybody is nice and helpful. I am okay if people don't want to help a student, but please don't post at all.

It's so easy to say" check out NANDA Diagnosis" without saying so many negative things about a person that they don't know.

I just can't imagine being a nurse, doctor, or a dentist and not helping others. I will not do anybody's homework but I will help.

I think we can all agree on that. :)

This was so ugly and mean from all posters. Reading this thread was like driving past a car accident with blood and guts all over the road; you want to look away, but can't.
