Hello!
If anyone else applying for the nursing corps scholarship 2015-2016 is anything like me then you've been googling like crazy trying to find out information on how to apply or what they need or even previous years winner. Soooooo.....if anyone is applying this year around or previously has and was or wasn't accepted please tell me your experience! Here are my stats PLEASE share yours if you'd like....
maryland full time nursing student.
VP of my local student nurses association
1st semester done ( :) ) asking for 2 years assistance
GPA 3.44
EFC 0000
4 years of community service in underserved communities
Congrats to all!
I am still waiting...credit check on 7/29 which resulted in a bit of a dive for my score ugh.
Would be really awesome if it worked out. This is my second time applying first time was for 3 years BSN to NP, now just for the completion of the NP.
EFC 0 and GPA 4.0 for my BSN and also MSN courses I've had so far, undergrad Bio with 3.77. Chem/Bio/Anatomy tutor, externship, lab and field research, worked with children with disabilities in the past, in the international Nursing Honor Society: Sigma Theta Tau, and a national NP society (as a student member).
I am in the mindset this particular scholarship isn't meant to be for me though, and looking for some other avenues to pursue (hello loan repayment program next year?). To those still waiting like me, I know it can be hard not get discouraged, but remember there are other scholarships/programs out there too. Where there is a will there is a way!
Congrats!! I'm trying not to panic. All the loans I've applied for keeps getting turned down. If it's not one reason it's another. My only hope is this scholarship. It would be a blessing!
I prayed for you. Don't lose hope, God always arrives right on time. You will get the money for school. Keep believing.

Thank you so much Hun! I have to be honest I just had a break down. But this really fills my heart thank you! And Good luck too. I hope everyone gets accepted and the full scholarship
I'm new this forum, but I've been following everyone and praying for everyone. Congrats to those that have received the scholarship, especially Justine. I know how hard it is to have a new baby and tackle school, but I know you can do it. I am asking for prayers, if you will. I have applied for over 30 scholarships and have received no word. I'm afraid my chances with this one are pretty slim. It's seems they are looking for those with nursing experience and I have none. This would have been my first year in and ADN program. I am a single mom and I'm running out of hope. I needed this and I know we all do. I have to take care of my three year old first and I can't quit my job. This is my dream and I feel like I've lost it. Good luck to all of those that have not heard yet!! I know you will. Don't lose hope!! :)
I will definitely keep you in my prayers. I know you may be discouraged right now but please don't lose hope. Remember when you think positive you get positive results. So please don't allow negative thoughts to cloud your mind and stop you from relieving your blessing. Continue to pray, hope for the best, and think positive. Someone posted earlier that last year they handed out scholarships until September and some people for whatever reason decline their award so there is hope. I hope everything works out for you and your not alone because I'm waiting to hear back as well. Ivr gotten discouraged but then I remember what people post on here and I continue to pray and I know by God's grace we'll will get that scholarshipí ½í¸Š

So glad to have a place to come and check, and hear the good news....it keeps me hopeful and positive.
I currently work as a Clinical Asst. in a psych hospital, and my credit karma updated today. I found myself in the breakroom checking that phone! LOL. But, no credit checks. Went back out onto the floor and cared for patients, with a team of supportive nurses...that is good stuff. And so I shall continue to wait.
