If anyone else applying for the nursing corps scholarship 2015-2016 is anything like me then you've been googling like crazy trying to find out information on how to apply or what they need or even previous years winner. Soooooo.....if anyone is applying this year around or previously has and was or wasn't accepted please tell me your experience! Here are my stats PLEASE share yours if you'd like....

I am in final review. Are they reviewing the w-4 and enrollment verification? or the entire application? Is this the stage when they are just waiting for SOS to sign off? It says I am not guaranteed an award right now. The wait is still on.

I had a credit check on July 9 from 'US DEPARTMENT OF ED' and none after that. This seems off, since its weeks before anyone else...Could this credit check have been from my Grad+ loan (which I believe is also through the dept of ed)? That would mean I didn't have a credit check for Nurse Corps...unless they didnt need to do one since the dept of ed had already done if for my loan...any insight or anyone else in this situation? Still hoping to receive an email, stats are: EFC: 800, GPA: 3.5 Undergrad, 4.0 Nursing courses, Direct Entry NP program, 6 years of nonprofit work in prison system and LGBT advocacy.
Question to NP award recipients-- are you going in to your first year or later years? Wondering if this makes a difference. If I don't get it, I'll just do really well in school this year and try again!
I feel like they send out the finalist email every other week? Since most people have to respond by the 10th/11th... Let's hope we are in next weeks good news! Fingers crossed, praying! Thanks everyone too because you guys do help keep focused
I have been following this thread for a while. I applied as a BSN student at Georgia State University. My credit has been checked, but I have not heard anything just yet.
Just turned in the other requested documents for the scholarship. After submitting my documents, my status is now "In Final Review". More waiting ahead. Good luck to those who are still waiting.
Tellio, as I mentioned in an earlier post, last year, HRSA sent notifications every year.
Psychnp, HRSA finished scoring on July 15, and, since they only check finalist's credit reports, did not check credit before then. The credit check appeared as CREDCO on experian reports this year.
The US Department of Education is not affiliated with this process. I believe that it checked your reports for a student loan. I also have a credit inquiry from them on my report, followed by the a credit inquiry from HRSA. The two are separate.
Was your credit checked on Experian or Equifax? Most people have been saying Experian but also saying they were notified by Credit Karma. If I'm not mistaken Credit Karma only uses info from Transunion and Equifax. I'm getting discouraged because I've not received any credit check according to Credit Karma, but perhaps it was pulled from my Experian?

I used credit karma. The inquiry showed up from CREDCO.
