Nursing acceptance letter to Chicago City Colleges(Truman, Daley, or Malcolm X)

U.S.A. Illinois

Did any prenursing students receive acceptance letters from any of Chicago City Colleges yet? I have not receive mine and just trying to get an idea.

Thanks

I still did not get my letter. I know I did get in but I am afraid i am not going to get into the day class which I need to take.:\

:mad:I would go Monday first thing in the morning and go to the nursing department and demand they give you a copy of your letter and sign it, and tell them you want the day classes before it gets full. They must provide you with the copy of the letter, because you are already in the system and that it is not your fault for not getting your letter. When I took the acceptance letter personally, the secretary had a folder full of letters and she said" yours is number 69th". I guess I was the 69th person to return the acceptance/denial letter and I thought I was one of the first people returning them:uhoh3:. I took my letter on Monday April 19th (in person three days later) I don't know how many people they take for the morning, but I think you should find out right away. It is not fair for you to be going through all this mess:mad:.

I can't go in the morning. I have work from 7-330 tomorrow and tuesday:\

that will be very frustrating if I don't get morning. and not fair at all

but ill probably give them a call tomorrow

oh and April 19th was the day I Went there and talked to the dean. Hm.

It will really not be fair if I don't get into the day program

Hello,

I recently got accepted into the program Fall 2010!! I'm doing the evening program hopefully. Does anyone know what teacher I should choose for evening classes. Te professors teaching this semester are Robinson, Huda and Harmon. Can anyone help!! Thank you so much in advance!

Daley's nursing dept said the same thing about they haven't had an admission meeting. The secretary said students will be notified before end of April.

What happened with Daley's acceptance/denial letters? has any body heard anything yet?

OMG I am ready to lose my mind with Daley, I can't believe I am wishing it upon myself, I called them the middle of April and was told that they couldn't tell me when but that the letters would go out sometime in April, so then I called during the last week of April and they told me that they hadn't gone out yet but would by the last day of April, so yesterday I call and ask if they have been mailed out and was told they will go out sometime this week, ummm hello its May, doesn't even sound like April and the worst part is are they even going to stick to mailing them out this week.

OMG I am ready to lose my mind with Daley.

I don't know what is going on with the CCC nowadays! I really hope you also applied to other colleges :uhoh3:

I was unaware until reading these posts that you could apply to schools out of your immediate area, doesn't make sense that you wouldn't be just applying the school in your area and that there would be boundry limits.

hello Ruby I was wondering from you and anyone else what were your points that got you in the program or didn't get you in

our4sonsandagirl, please see my previews post(post number 21 I think), in the beginning I only applied to Daley and did not know I could apply to all city colleges so I was denied by Daley and I had to wait a whole year to reapply. By that time I finished all my prereqs including Bio 226,Bio 227 and finished even micro 233. So this year I applied to Daley, Truman and Olive Harvey. I got accepted by Truman (thank god), but have not heard anything from Daley nor Olive Harvey. Since I have all my prereqs and all the Biology needed for nursing, I was a good candedate in Truman because with Truman the most prereqs you complete, the most points you have to be accepted. With Daley, they add your GPA+your reading compass test score and whoever gets the most gets accepted!. Please read my previous posts, because Olive Harvey has not a lot of applicants as much as Daley has and by the way, Daley only has 100 spots for about 300 or so applicants, when Olive Harvey has 80 spots to about 100 applicants! and Truman has 190 spots! so don't just apply in one college, Is better to double your chances applying everywhere.:D

apply to as many schools as possible. complete all prerequisites and co-requisites (a&p1, a&p2, & microbiology) and cna class (not required but enhance application + job opportunity). it is very competitive. luckily, i got accepted to all three schools. i picked truman as i learned and heard they have the best nursing program out of all city colleges. the instructors are very good. topics are taught and tested separately, where other colleges might group everything together. they pioneered the first nursing program in the city. i have taken prerequisites at truman, daley colleges, and harold washington colleges.

Thanks guys, I would definelty have applied to the others had I know, I have my CNA, I have both Anatomy's done, I have my microbiology done, I have both inorganic and organic chemistry complete, I got a 92 on my compass and have a 3.0, that's why I was wondering what kind of compass score and gpa people had together for the total points. Basically what amount of points generally gets you in. I figured on a board like this I could see what the average was. Thanks, I look forwards to hearing your responses.
