May 6-12 is Nurses Week in the US. Thank you to nurses everywhere for all the good work that you do. This 'justavolunteer' is grateful!

School Nurses Day is May 7th. (I'm taking in cookies to celebrate myself!) Are any other particular specialities recognized on a particular day?

We are invited to a nurses tea on a day I don't work so most likely I won't go. But I appreciate the effort. Normally we also get some sort of potted plant.

Sometimes I feel like nurses week is a bit like being a battered wife that gets a bouquet of flowers because the husband got drunk and thumped you last night.

I actually sprayed the water I was drinking all over the place when I read this!! How absolutely funny and sadly true.
