Nurses,
Please take a second to vote below!
We've polled our allnurses.com members the past 2 presidential elections and nurses got them both right! Let's see if we can predict the election results correctly for a 3rd time!
Of course, these are just fun non-scientific polls.
This thread was only intended to be a poll. Not a political discussion. Feel Free to reply with your choice if you want, but please no political arguments, slams or jabs :) Lets keep this a clean and simple poll
UPDATE: Nov 7th, 2012!
The poll has closed! allnurses.com members have called the presidential elections 3 times in a row correctly! Please carry on your Political Discussions in our Nursing Breakroom US Politics forum!
You're going to wish Romney was elected. Obamacare is ALREADY cutting peoples hours back... even some nurses. May God be with us all!!!!!!
Regarding the ACA: Certainly not. If your administrators have suggested as much, it is a falsehood. I would question why they would tell you something so blatantly untrue. I suggest you and your peers investigate this because the reason behind the lie is more curious than the lie itself. I would want to know their motivation for spreading such easily debunked rumors.
After years of pandering to white, suburban "middle" America, I find it absolutely delicious that the republican party is now being forced by demographic realities to reach out to blacks, Hispanics, gays, etc.
As Bill Oreilly said last night, the white establishment is now offically the minority. Who's the "Real America" *now*? :)

Americans have been moving more towards "issues" rather than "party" when it comes to politics and voting for quite some time. This is going to be a problem for both democrats and republicans as time moves on.
Here in NYC one knows quite a few gays that don't like Obama per se, however the larger issue of same sex marriage trumps their personal quibbles and they "held their noses" and voted for Obama. Equally know many African Americans who weren't thrilled with Obama the first time he ran for the WH and that view didn't change over the past four years. However the pride for that ethnic group as a whole in seeing a black (or half-black) man win the WH twice again over road any personal quibbles.
To say all latinos voted for Obama isn't true. Hispanics/latinos in the USA make up a diverse group of persons from many countries. However the Cubans and Puerto Ricans have nothing to worry about in terms of "immigration" issues so their interests lie else where. Mexicans, Domicans, South Americans OTHO are another matter.
Problem with issue/independent voters is they are not a stable base. Obama had to reach into his bag of tricks and or make promises to bring many of those who backed his first run on board this time.
To put it simply for my family: I am a diabetic who has health insurance because of Obama. If it wasn't for him, I don't know how I'd even BEGIN to afford all the hospital visits, endocrinologist visits, urgent care visits, doctor's visits, prescriptions and their refills, pump supplies, etc.

Actually, you should be thanking the people who pay for these things for you, not the President. Unless he personally buys your supplies, he actually has nothing to do with it. He simply took one person's money and gave it to you.
You're welcome. To put it simply for my family: I am a diabetic who has health insurance because of Obama. Why do some of yall feel that you personally have paid for others healthcare, education, or etc. Show me the recipt and until them all praises go to the Lord and the Obama administration. Stop being salty and be happy for those that are doing well! This country is so divided n its sickening to see how selfish some of these people. Maybe if you would embrace Obama you would receive the benefits. If you don't like it move out of the country it'll be one less bitter person to worry about. Thank you

Where does the financial support for those initiatives come from?
You're welcome.
You really need to stop with the bitterness. You have not contributed to any of the success that others have gained thru the current administration nor should someone thank you. All I see is you getting mad cuz someone is getting ahead in this world and since it isn't you ur mad. Obama is still YOUR president for the next 4 years so you and fox news needs to accept it. The hatred is sickening
You guys were for a man whom when brought up the subject of education funding to borrow the money from your parents....in addition as a woman Romney could careless about us I'm sorry but I don't feel comfortable being placed in a binder full of women. And FYI the 47% he is talking about is you if you are a woman, minority, a student, LGBT, the youth, the seniors. Pretty much if your a white male he is for you. End of story Obama is YOUR president

Thomas Jefferson and John Adams were on opposite ends of the political spectrum and disagreed bitterly over politics for their entire careers. However, they loved and respected each other deeply and remained the very best and dearest of friends until their dying day (having actually died on the same day within hours of each other). They did not let their differing opinions impact their respect or affection for one another, primarily because they were earnest, honest, and because they were gentlemen.
Pity that modern men and women do not emulate our founding fathers in this, or any other, way.
