To compare America's healthcare, even with health care reform, to that of El Salvador is a hugh stretch.
Just out of curiosity. Are you from El Salvador? Have you ever visited? Do you even know where it is? It's a lot more modern than you think it is especially in their health care system (I've lived there and received medical attention there so I know). They have even adopted using American dollars as their currency. But anyways that is besides the point...
Even without comparing the two countries, I still feel this new healthcare reform bill will affect our salaries in a negative way. It is just my opinion, which I am allowed to have as an American Citizen in this country or so I thought.

You are certainly allowed to have an opinion. I merely suggest that rather than compare the new law to health care in one country, it would be more relevant to do a cross cultural study with more than one country, as health care practices can differ across cultures.
If you resent the "secrecy and and deliberate fog," stop watching 24 hour cable television which was not around to uncover the "secrecy and and deliberate fog," that shrouded passage of Medicare. In politics, on any side, there will alway be secrecy and deliberate fog. I wish you sincerely good luck in keeping it out of your Tea Party.
So, am I to take it from your comment, we are never to question the gov. Or ask them what new laws they are writing. Or whats in them. We are the People. We voted the politicians in, and they work for us. They are not meant to keep things from us, or have back room deals where one party are left out. It doesn't exactly inspire confidence when they do hide things.
As for 24 hour news, if the other news outlets did their job, we wouldn't need them. The politicians won't tell us what their doing, so we have to find out however and where ever we can. Just because Medicare passed in a fog doesn't make it a good bill, or bad bill for that matter. It just makes it secret.
And lastly, just because someone questions the bill, or looks for more information,, it doesn't make them a member of the Tea Party. It just means they think for themselves.
Your response was so full of inaccurate statements, my time only permits me to address the first paragraph. How do you know what all 50 senators and over a hundred congressmen read? The view that something is better than nothing is that the vast majority of our laws are based upon compromise between conflicting views. In my state, there is only a shortage of nursing jobs, not nurses. Did you know this bill addresses the infrastructure by adding to scholarship funds for RN training. I guess you did not read that part.
We know that a lot of the Senators and Congressmen didn't read the bill as they said it themselves. They went on TV and out and out said it. Also when questioned on it, they didn't know what was in it. I saw this myself. And to those that said they did, I don't beleave they did before they voted on it. It is aprox. 2000 pages, and they only had 3 days to read it.

All I know is that there is this type of healthcare in El Salvador and their nurses are not worth much. They are paid the lowest and it's embarrassing to call yourself a nurse there (the doctors on the other hand do make a lot of money and live very well). So I am afraid for my job now and have a distinct feeling our salaries will suffer.
