A recent study led by Vanderbilt University professor Peter Buerhaus polled registered nurses about two timely issues -- the state of health care and the importance of the issue in the upcoming election.
With a close election expected, the country's three million registered nurses could make a difference in the election, Buerhaus says.
Most nurses interviewed support some form of universal health care coverage, although opinions vary on just how extensive coverage should be.
Very few approve of the country's health care system as it stands now, the survey shows.
...Slightly more than half, or 51 percent, believe that if all nurses could join together to address one health problem, it would be the number of uninsured Americans.

Colin Powell will not effect anything at all.
Uh, wrong. The members of the armed forces respect Colin Powell, have taken orders from him, and respect his opinion. This will take away some of the coersion their COs have, regarding the insistance some have inflicted upon their underlings, to vote for McCain, who they said "suffered for us". What BS that is!
Start thinking with your head!
I heard he admitted that Obamas tax plan would help him, finally.Sillyness..
I will admit that although I don't like McCain in general, he made me laugh tonight at that private, comical dinner he and Obama attended in NYC. I think his sense of humor has been shown a bit too late though.
That's because he was told to "lighten up", by his advisors. He's still a loose canon!
Who is Joe the Plumber and why is McCain so interested him. He must be famous after tonight. I really preferred Joe with the six pack abdomen. We all know about Joe and what a plumbers belt does to his waist line.
Infamous is more like it. However even now, after being used as a pawn by McCain et al they stick with their ruse that they're in the "common" people's camp. Really, they're not!:uhoh21:

And I truly do not see Colin Powell as a much of an influence this late in the game. I see it as him angling for a position. But that is all.

So you are trying to tell us that McCain and Caribou Barbie are sideing with big oil, big business, Big military. That is such an incomprehensible surprise. I never would have imagined that.
Personally, I don't think the "O" is the second coming and I see long gasoline lines and long health care lines in the future if he can help it. I feel he is the media's messiah but if you truly speak to your neighbors....you know, the one's that like to take home their own pay check and not share with Charlie on the corner smoking a crack pipe, they'll say they much rather be......self-reliant...... So not all health care workers are licking their chops to be imerged in a socialized medicine society. But....we absolutely need to make insurance less of a monopoly, be able to buy accross state lines and have people pay for insurance according to what they can pay for it by using income guidelines. All children, elderly and disabled insured but if you can walk and talk then go to work and pay your fair share.
I feel so much better now.
Self reliant. That's a pipe dream. Everyone has had some form of help from the government at sometime.
Besides, I have no problem helping Charlie the crackhead get medical care.
Elderly, disabled and children are no more special than crackheads.
Besides, everyone paying as they can afford IS socialized medicine. The wealthy still will pay the lion's share.
So are you for or against. You kinda chose both there.
