Nurse: Wanted in Isle of Man

I have heard this news just yesterday. Great opportunity for those nurses who wouldnt want to wait around the end of retrogression.
It was said that this island is in the British Isles. So I guess, they are covered by nmc..

Also issues with EU directive which means people will find i very hard to get work permits if from outside the EU

They have an independent government and make their own laws & tax rules & I don't think they are part of the NMC even - though I'm not 100% sure about that bit. I don't think the recruiting rules we have here in the UK at the moment apply to them because they are not actually part of the UK.

i found a IOM dip/he nursing course leading to NMC reg

and an account of a nmc professional conduct meetings

Isle of Man is a crown holding its part of england but not the UK.

They have their own deparment of health which provides goverment health care(public) and private provided care like nursing homes

The Nursing license body is the NMC (nursing and midwifery council)and as a foreign trained nurse the NMC needs to look at your training and will require an adaption course, place their are limited, before granting your licence to practice.

Also they may have to fill jobs from Isle of Man residents, UK or EEA nationals first so they may be working with UK immigration policy so nursing jobs may be near impossible for those outside those areas.

my wife is a registered nurse. she has no experience yet as she is still reviewing for the nclex. however, we came across the isle of man and are interested with that place. any advise?

Almost all foreign countries require the local license and at least two years of experience before they will consider the nurse for immigration purposes.

Suggest that you contact them directly to find out their requirements.
