Hello everyone. I would like to ask if you know any hospitals in metro manila accepting nurse trainees this august 2013? I graduated last april 2012..I completed my bls acls (AHA), IVT trainings first and now I plan to apply to hospitals..my work experience is limited (2 mos staff nurse trainee in a dermatology clinic). Help pls. Thank you!

Can you PM me the name of the Chief Nurse and his/her title? Thank you!

Do they conduct it per batch? When will the next batch start? Thank you again :)

i'll Pm you tomorrow night so i can get her complete name and correct title, i haven't submitted my letter of intent yet :jester:..

hi guys! SAN JUAN MEDICAL CENTER is accepting nurse volunteers. it is for "free" :sarcastic: well, there will be a 300 pesos facilitators fee. i think its reasonable enough compared to other hospitals that are charging thousands of pesos. it is a 6 months training, more on bed side care; VS q1, IV push, IV insertion, I&O monitoring etc..but only the staff nurses are allowed to do the charting! but you can always read the patients chart so that you can familiarize yourself with nursing documentation. SJMC nursing service office conducts examinations for nurse volunteers every Friday only, its all about fundamentals, calculations, pharmacology, dont forget to bring your resume and school credentials

hi there! is the hiring on-going? or is there a specific month where-in they will start the training? and do you get to have a certificate after or a chance to be hired permanently?

To be hired as a staff nurse depends on your "backer"... you can go there on fridays and take the examination. there is no specific month, they'll tell you when your orientation is. yes, you will get a certificate after the training.

Thank you yourstruly! May I ask what certificate they are going to give you after the 6 months training? And do you need to complete the 6 months?

is SJMC a tertiary hospital?

is SJMC a tertiary hospital?

secondary but they are on process of obtaining the tertiary hospital level as per a head nurse

Hi narsia! Thanks for the info, haven't been receiving call or text from ust. How was you training? And may i know when did you start your training at usth? Thanks :)

Hi Anj20! I had my training from April 22-July 23, 2013.. It actually took around 1-1 1/2 years for me to participate in their training (either because it was too late for me to pass my requirements for the training or because they informed me that they prioritize UST grads for the meantime). HOW WAS THE TRAINING? well, I had the worst experience for the first rotation but the best experience for the second rotation. I think it depends on the staff nurses whom you are working with. For the first rotation, most of the staff nurses in that ward are UST grad (around 90%+). Since I'm not a UST grad, I always felt some kind of discrimination. They will let you do whatever you want to do and if you ask for some assistance, you will feel that they don't want to help you (you can see in their faces that they got irritated or they will say words that will make you think that maybe it was better that you don't ask help from them). For the second rotation, most of the staff nurses in that ward are not UST grad. They are so kind that they teach and guide their nurse trainees in doing procedures that they were not used to do when they were nursing students (ex., suctioning, trache care, catheterization,IV insertions). I felt that I was also a Staff Nurse, since they kept encouraging me not to stop trying and doing those stuff to gain experience. I hope that you will be able to receive a text from them since they currently starting other trainings..

UPDATE ON HOSPITALS FROM THE SOUTH

University of Perpetual Help Medical Center

-I was told by the HR that the screening for their training program which is similar to St. Luke's PGNT will start on OCTOBER. So all aspiring applicants can still submit their resume at the HR, Lower Basement of UPHMC

Alabang Medical Center

-Accepts volunteer nurses only

-Last time I went there, I learned that they have no HR (Yet to be verified?) so I was instrucrted to proceed to the Pharmacy and look for Ms ****. She initially asked me whether I have applied to other hospitals.

-Not sure if there is an allowance.

-Requirements include:

*Resume

*Photocopy of TOR

*Photocopy of Board Rating

*Photocopy of IVT, BLS and other trainings

I can't remember the other requirements she asked for so bring all the things you deem important to applying.

-MAKE SURE TO GO THERE IN THE MORNING because I went there in the afternoon and she told me it was best if I went there in the morning (For the interview I guess?)

Las Pinas Doctror's Hospital

-I was told by the lady at the information counter that they only process applications with referrals from the owners/stock holders

Medical Center Muntinlupa

-I heard they're hiring trainees again. But this is only second hand information. It's best if you find out yourself :)

Asian Hospital

-A friend told me that they are hiring but if you ask the HR, they will tell you otherwise. It's best if you send them an email and attach the following credentials:

*Resume

*Scanned BLS, IVT, PNA, PRC Licenses and Certificates
