Hi Anj20! I had my training from April 22-July 23, 2013.. It actually took around 1-1 1/2 years for me to participate in their training (either because it was too late for me to pass my requirements for the training or because they informed me that they prioritize UST grads for the meantime). HOW WAS THE TRAINING? well, I had the worst experience for the first rotation but the best experience for the second rotation. I think it depends on the staff nurses whom you are working with. For the first rotation, most of the staff nurses in that ward are UST grad (around 90%+). Since I'm not a UST grad, I always felt some kind of discrimination. They will let you do whatever you want to do and if you ask for some assistance, you will feel that they don't want to help you (you can see in their faces that they got irritated or they will say words that will make you think that maybe it was better that you don't ask help from them). For the second rotation, most of the staff nurses in that ward are not UST grad. They are so kind that they teach and guide their nurse trainees in doing procedures that they were not used to do when they were nursing students (ex., suctioning, trache care, catheterization,IV insertions). I felt that I was also a Staff Nurse, since they kept encouraging me not to stop trying and doing those stuff to gain experience. I hope that you will be able to receive a text from them since they currently starting other trainings..
