    Nurse Trainee Programs 2013

I don't have an idea about the training fee for medical city. Sorry. I just left my application in the box. Our profession is a very competitive one so before we are able to land a stable job, we have to strive hard and earn experience first. There are some hospitals who accept volunteers or provide free nurse trainings (i don't have much idea about since most of the hospitals i applied for require payment) so maybe you could try your luck there. :) it takes a while before the hospitals contact you so i suggest you pass your resumes to as many hospitals as you can and see which one would provide the best opportunity for you. :)

It's just a long white folder. Usually, the plastic cover of those white folders are transparent. In this case, it's just of a different shade, which is red. Just ask the staff at the bookstore about it. They'll direct you to the shelves containing the white folders. Just look for it there. :) The board rating does have 2 papers - one which says you passed and only includes your GWA and the other contains your grades in the NPs. The board certificate is a separate document. It's like a diploma. Your picture (same as the one in your PRC License) is on the upper right corner. Go to PRC and ask the staff/guards where you can get your board certificate. You will need 1 documentary stamp (i suggest you bring one beforehand) and your prc license. I don't know if all board certificates are available for release already (if you are a recent passer, if not, it's most likely available). World Citi's training will start this july 29. The next batch would be by september. :)

I forgot to remove the name..apologies! Anyway, i hope you were able to take note of it. The requirements listed in the internet are the same except for the folder and the name of the HR Director. My friends and I went there last month and we were surprised to see that they have changed the color from green (which is now meant for nursing assistants i think) to red and that the HR director has been changed. We had to walk back to the mall and buy that long white folder with a dark red cover and reprint our letters of intent. They conduct the exams by batch and alphabetically.

@Sainkee: i think they still are. the next batch of trainees would most probably begin by september so if you have time, you can drop by the HR department and give your application. I submitted mine a month ago, and I just took the exam this morning. The requirements are: >Updated resume with picture >letter of intent addressed to: ***** PTRP Human Resource Director Commonwealth Hospital and Medical Center >IVT >BLS >ACLS >Standard First Aid >PRC license >Board rating >Board certificate >TOR >Diploma >Certificates from trainings/seminars >you can also include the other documents like NBI clearance, brgy clearance, sss, certificate of good moral/recommendation from school, etc (just bring them in case). Place your file in a long white folder with a dark red plastic cover (you can buy this at national...took me awhile to figure out the plastic cover part. ) Head over to the HR department located at 7th floor. The staff are friendly so just feel free to ask questions. :)
  5. You will receive 2 certificates at the end of your Basic Nursing Training. Certificate of Completion and the other is for the breastfeeding seminar. :)
  6. I had my interview today. It was easy. They just asked about my previous work and training experience. I decided not to push through with the july 29 batch. The training costs P5,500 for 6 weeks and 3 days. 1 week lecture, 3 days breastfeeding seminar, and 5 weeks exposure in ward areas only. After that, there will be a final exam and oral revalida. You have to earn an average of at least 88% to qualify for their advanced nurse training. The advance training is for 3 months although you will have to choose only ONE special area (e.g. strictly ER exposure throughout the 3 mos period). I think there is an additional fee for that. I won't be pursuing this july batch. I'll check out other hospitals too. If not, I can be a part of their September batch and just pay the training fee & submit the other credentials listed. No need to go through the exam and interview process. They are still accepting applicants I think and the preceptors informed us that they conduct the interviews daily. The staff are very approachable and kind so don't hesitate to ask questions should you decide to train in their hospital. Oh and by the way, they also informed us that in 2 years time World Citi would be merging with Philippine Ortho. The chances of being absorbed are high as long as you belong to the Top10 in your batch. :)
  7. How is the interview process like? When they ask about nursing procedures, do they expect you to give a detailed answer? Do you have any tips or suggestions? Thank you!

    Nurse Trainee Programs 2013

@sab-burgs I'll try to explore the transport routes from World Citi when i find the time and if i am 100% i'd push through with their training program. Wow so you're from Cavite? I thought you resided around Metro Manila! I also have some batch mates who volunteered in Dr. Jose N. Rodriguez. I think it would also be good to get experience there but I live so far away and again, the issue is going home after late night shifts. I do have plans going abroad (hence the desire to gain at least 1 year of hospital experience) but not in KSA. I prefer Qatar as I am more acquainted with the customs and way of living there. Haha! Family friends advised me to at least complete 1 year experience before trying my luck there. I wish you well in your exams! i'm sure you'd be a great addition to their hospital staff. As for me, I'm planning on following up my application in Commonwealth Hospital and Medical Center (CHMC) within this week. I think I prefer their training program (bec it's 3-4 months unlike World Citi which is roughly 5-6weeks). Besides, I am more familiar with the area, having lived there during my college period. Anyway, let's continue to push through our growth in this profession. It's a tough world out there just securing for a trainee slot (i sincerely hope the backer system would forever disappear) but our patience and determination would lead us to great opportunities.

@jazz_08 I was actually expecting to write in their log sheet but when I asked about submitting applications, the lady guard just pointed a box wherein i could drop it off. the box is almost full and with that, i don't expect Medical City to call anytime soon. haha! As for World Citi, I received a text an hour after I submitted my application to the lady guard. I took my exam this morning (9am). I arrived earlier (8:40am) but the guard asked me to come back at exactly 9.. the exam was ok. more on stock knowledge..haha. The HR department informed us to wait for a call/text within the week or next week for the final interview. Oh and the training fee is 5.5k for only 6weeks. @sab-burgs I am not expecting a call anytime soon from Medical City. I have seen the bulk of the applicants and well, I guess that speaks for itself. Haha! I still hope they'd call though. if they do have the backer system, then, that's a bummer! I really hate the backer system..it robs other willing and qualified applicants the chance they deserve to train. hehe. I asked the HR department in MMC and they did say there are currently no hiring or trainings scheduled. They said the process usually takes around 6 months from the time you passed your application. Is it ok to keep passing your applications in MMC? I might just do that in the next couple of months. haha! I am still thinking whether i should pursue World Citi. The only con is going home late at night. I am not yet familiar with the surroundings and the transport routes. I received a text from them yesterday, an hour after I submitted my application. I took the exam this morning and it was fine. There were 5 of us that time. I'll wait for their call/text about the interview but in the meantime, I plan to follow up my application in Commonwealth Medical Center (beside SM Fairview). May i ask what hospitals you applied to that provides free training?

    Nurse Trainee Programs 2013

Hello again. I just submitted my application in Makati Med. They only require these: >Resume >TOR >Board rating >Diploma >board certificate (i'm not so sure..i forgot! sorry! just bring it in case) The requirements are posted on the door of the HR office. You just have to submit them to the respective personnel. I was informed that as of now, they have no hiring or trainings scheduled. They also said that the process (of waiting for a response) usually takes around 6 months. You can follow-up from time to time (I plan to do that later on though). As for Medical City Ortigas...just go to the HR department. You will see a huge box in the entrance wherein you'd place your application. they only require: >Updated resume (with 2x2 picture) >Board rating >TOR >Board certificate >Diploma >photocopy of PRC license Lastly, I went to World Citi Medical Center. Just like what @sab-burgs said, you will pass your application to the lady guard and then asked to fill up a small form. the list of requirements are likely similar to the first 2 hospitals i listed. the lady guard advised me to follow up my application this friday if i haven't received a call or text by then. Well, that's all. It is indeed a challenge to find a job but I know we can make it through this phase.

NKTI has a nurse training program and it costs around 15k i think. i don't know if there are still available slots for the next batch but you might as well try submitting your application as early as possible because there are a lot of applicants. :)

Lung Center has a 4 month training program starting on August 25. they always accept applications. once completed, they will ask you to have a chest x-ray and PPD exam. if the results of your lab are ok, then i think you will be accepted in their training program. it costs 10k though..i am not aware if there are any exams or interview. i decided not to push through with it. I think it's just for training purposes, unlike other hospitals which use that period as your evaluation. no guarantees of being absorbed as staff. the requirements for lung center (if you are interested) for post graduate course in respiratory nursing: >Resume with latest picture >TOR (including Diploma and RLE records) >Board rating >PRC license - current and valid >PRC certificate >Recent picture - 1 x 1 (2pcs) and 2 x 2 (1pc) >Chest x-ray & PPD (c/o LCP) >Brown envelope (long) I tried in QCGH but they said their applications are closed as of late. The next batch of applicants are to be accepted around November-December (that's for the 2014 batch already). Capitol accepts applications but still no updates on their training schedule. They require at least a board rating of 78%. Thanks again for the info. I'll probably visit World Citi this tuesday. You've been a great help! Thanks!! :)
  13. Hi i just want to ask if they have a regular monthly schedule for their nurse training programs? or do i just go ahead and submit the requirements you listed? thanks!

hi thanks for the reply! i live in katipunan (near ateneo).. I have passed my resumes in Lung Center, Capitol, and Commonwealth Medical Center and i have yet to follow up by next week. I'm very interested in the training programs you listed above, mainly those for World Citi and Medical Center. I hope they still accept applications! How long did it take for them to contact you in World Citi? :)
