This was for tramadol? I would think a "pill mill" that gives out tramadol wouldn't compete well against other pill mills.

Considering how reluctant PCPs are to write opioid scripts for anyone, including patients who have safely taken them for years, I'm skeptical. Maybe she wrote so many scripts because she was the only provider in a wide area who would. Does she run a pain clinic?

Tramadol is more euphoric than other opiates and opioid meds for some people. It also has antidepressant actions and is similar in chemical structure to Effexor.

This is interesting. Tramadol was not scheduled as a narcotic until August 2014. I always believed it was the lesser of the pain meds. I guess no more tramadol scripts. What are we going to do for pain in this country? We know that the current aging population is/will have pain at some point.

I have never heard of a pain clinic that only utilized tramadol. Does not appear they got her for any other pain meds. Something strange.

I didn't see anything in any of the articles that she was working at a pill mill.

The articles say she was arrested forpossession of 6000 doses of tramadol.

Usually if someone is working at or operating a pill mill, the charges are for overprescribing, health care fraud, drug conspiracy, drug trafficking, conspiracy to distribute, or something similar.

Possibly these were for her own use? Or the authorities could be planning on amending the charges after an investigation.

A couple years ago my dog was prescribed tramadol for his hip dysplasia. The vet was explaining it to me and I said yes, I was familiar with it. He had no idea that it was used for humans, and that it was abused.

The psych MD at my facility is always taking tramadol off the patients med list. It can be very addictive for drug user and that is the bulk of the patients we care for.

A couple years ago my dog was prescribed tramadol for his hip dysplasia. The vet was explaining it to me and I said yes, I was familiar with it. He had no idea that it was used for humans, and that it was abused.

My friend is a vet and has had at least one owner abusing his dog's meds.
