2024 Nurse Corps Scholarship

Updated:   Published

I just submitted my application to the Nurse Corps Scholarship, I just found out about this a few months ago anyone have any advice or tips? I am most worried by my SAI number. It is within the range but its on the upper end more than lower.

Apply to the Nurse Corps Scholarship Program

You are eligible if you:

  • Are a U.S. citizen (born or naturalized), a national, or a lawful permanent resident
  • Are an accepted or enrolled student in a nursing degree program at a United States accredited school of nursing
  • Begin classes no later than September 30
  • Don't have any federal judgment liens
  • Don't have an existing service commitment
  • Aren't overdue on a federal debt

Note: Preference to those who need the most help financially.

Why should you apply?

If you receive an award, you'll get a monthly stipend—and they'll pay your

  • tuition;
  • eligible fees;
  • reasonable costs (includes books, clinical supplies/instruments, and uniforms).

Mine said Under Review up until I accepted the COI, and then it changed to Under Final Review

Anyone know how long it'll take to find out once you've submitted your forms/COI? Will it take right up until September 30th? I've been checking my email every few hours for the last week!

Hey all, got my COI on 9/13!

Haven't gotten a credit check because I keep it frozen, they emailed me about it and I unlocked it so hopefully they check it soon 🙃. So, another girl in my program who applied had called to ask if they would reimburse you for Summer term (my program started this past January so we've all paid for Spring and Summer so far) and they told her no. When I did the EV forms it asked for Summer and fall enrollment, why would they ask for Summer if they weren't gonna reimburse you y'know? Anyone have any information about that?

Alsooo.... anyone from the August wave receive any notification about securing an award yet? 😅 good luck to the rest who are still waiting!

I am not sure why the person on the phone would give inaccurate information. However, in their guidebook, it is clearly stated that they do pay for the Summer term.

That being said, they won't pay for your Spring term, because Spring term is included in 2023-2024 school year, whereas Summer 2024 is included in 2024-2025 school year.

Hey congratulations!

I also called about the Summer reimbursement and was told that if you'd taken out a loan it would be reimbursed but if you paid without loans it would not. I was super disappointed with that news since I also specified Summer term and was expecting to be reimbursed if I were to be selected.

That's weird! I swear I remember in the application process it said if your Summer term started by a specific date then you can ask for funding!

I included the Summer term in my enrollment verification so 🤷🏽‍♂️ we'll see

only so much longer to wait

Thanks! Oh I sure hope so, I've paid everything in loans so only having to pay off my Spring loan would be such a dream. My Summer semester technically started in May after the deadline for submission so I was already in the waiting process. Fingers crossed they reimburse it!! That's lame that they don't reimburse those who paid out of pocket though 😞

Pretty sure I read that too! Fingers crossed that they do reimburse Summer

Yeah I had no expectations for Spring to get reimbursed and I'm totally fine with that. But I definitely read that they would reimburse for Summer. The girl in my program read that too and wanted to clarify over the phone so I'm also not sure why they would write something in print like that and then say no. Rep was probably not knowledgeable on that.

So I have an SAI of 0 and my credit was pulled on 8/19 but I haven't heard anything yet. Hope this doesn't mean I'm being rejected, as I am maxed out on student loans and grants and have no other way to pay for school. Trying to keep positive. I'm not in the FB group so do we know if it's true that we could hear something on September 30th, if not before then? Could I still get an acceptance that late? Any information anyone has would be appreciated.

Hi,

Does anyone know how long it takes them to approve you after accepting COI? or are all notices given on 9/30?

I have the "Under Final Review"

Where did you go to see that application status on the website? Because I'm not seeing that anywhere.

How did you get to the application portal like what are the steps you did to get there?

Yeah but when I log in to my portal mine doesn't show that it just shows this. So how did you get to that section on the website?
