  1. A classmate of mine was given an offer and she wasn't told either. She said they wanted to do a follow-up with her and she thinks they will discuss it then.
  2. I applied for women's health and was not accepted despite applying early, having a great interview and good academic stats overall, so I'm not sure how they are picking. It's just a really competitive specialty along with NICU and pediatrics. If you are willing to take the opportunity from multiple markets rather than one then I'd say there's a better chance. But of course you'd have to be open to the idea of relocating.
  3. Congrats! I do hope you're right haha. I've been told Novant really wastes no time in getting back to you on these things and they sure are quick. They emailed me on 2/4, if it weren't for the weekend it probably would've been even sooner. I accepted being waitlisted so now I'm just waiting (and hoping LOL) that a spot opens up soon. They said I could receive an offer from now until August, which is their last start date. If not then I can be confident I don't have a spot. I really want to start in June/July so fingers crossed!
  4. Hey all, wanted to start the Summer cohort thread since I didn't see one made. I got waitlisted for ED in the Charlotte market. Does anyone have any insight about the chances of getting off the waitlist? Is it possible? This is my top choice hospital ugh.
  5. If there's anyone in the same boat that is paying for school with student loans or maybe a mix of out of pocket and loans, remember that there is soooo much opportunity in nursing. Taking out loans sucks and I wish I didn't have to have that debt but I know that whatever job I take on will let me pay it off in no time. The debt to income ratio has a positive outlook for many positions you may want to pursue in nursing. Of course you can also look for micro scholarships to help the burden. I'm grateful to be in an awesome profession!
  6. They are sending out denial emails, I just got mine. Crazy how you can be a finalist, do everything on time and still get denied. But I'm a strong believer in Christ, prayed about it and asked if this opportunity is not for me to close the door and I got my answer. Whatever you believe in, whatever decision you get, just know that it is for the best! Congratulations to everyone who received the award and those who will receive it. I wish you all the best of luck in your nursing journeys ?
  7. Has anyone who got a COI on 9/13 been awarded yet? I'm wondering if the ones who got the COI in early Sept. are the ones getting awarded sooner?
  8. Congratulations!! Question for you: I got the COI on 9/13 and got the "under final review" status like you're supposed to. Then a couple days later to "under review" again. Mind you my school official made a mistake on the semester dates for the EV form and I had to email the analyst with the corrected form. I called and asked and they said I'm still a finalist and that it's just an extra review but it's been like that forever now. Some people had a glitch where it did that, did you have that issue or were you always "under final review?"
  9. From the 2024-2025 guidelines: "If a Nurse Corps Scholarship Program participant has taken out a student loan to cover the cost of tuition and required fees for the Summer and/or fall semester(s), while waiting for notice of the Nurse Corps Scholarship Program award, the participant should request that their academic institution prepare an itemized invoice detailing the amount of tuition and required fees paid for the student loans to cover this period. The Nurse Corps Scholarship Program will pay the amount on the invoice. to the academic institution." They never specified that it was only for federal loans. I would be very upset if that were the case because my Summer term was paid for using only private loans. I would be quick to argue but hopefully they do cover everything.
  10. May I ask when you did your COI and when you got awarded? Just curious of your timeline. Congrats again, as a Christian seeing your strong faith is uplifting! ?
  11. OMG so you got it? Congrats!
  12. Yeah I had no expectations for Spring to get reimbursed and I'm totally fine with that. But I definitely read that they would reimburse for Summer. The girl in my program read that too and wanted to clarify over the phone so I'm also not sure why they would write something in print like that and then say no. Rep was probably not knowledgeable on that.
  13. Thanks! Oh I sure hope so, I've paid everything in loans so only having to pay off my Spring loan would be such a dream. My Summer semester technically started in May after the deadline for submission so I was already in the waiting process. Fingers crossed they reimburse it!! That's lame that they don't reimburse those who paid out of pocket though ? Pretty sure I read that too! Fingers crossed that they do reimburse Summer
  14. Hey all, got my COI on 9/13! Haven't gotten a credit check because I keep it frozen, they emailed me about it and I unlocked it so hopefully they check it soon ?. So, another girl in my program who applied had called to ask if they would reimburse you for Summer term (my program started this past January so we've all paid for Spring and Summer so far) and they told her no. When I did the EV forms it asked for Summer and fall enrollment, why would they ask for Summer if they weren't gonna reimburse you y'know? Anyone have any information about that? Alsooo.... anyone from the August wave receive any notification about securing an award yet? ? good luck to the rest who are still waiting!
