Nurse Corps Scholarship 2018-2019

Published

Hi Everyone, I'm planning to apply for the HRSA NurseCorp Scholarship this year. I figured I would go ahead and start the next thread for this award year. I'm currently finishing up some of my prereqs and will be starting my BSN program in June. I know the application date hasn't been released yet but from what I have seen on other threads, it should be opened sometime in March/April with a deadline in May. I've also read that the prompt questions have been the same from one award year to the next so I have begun working on them as well as trying to figure out who I would like to use as recommendations. I would love to hear from all who plan to apply this year.

So....still nothing! Am so disappointed!

Me too. They are so slow . I called them and told you guys are very slow. I said we already started school. Lol. But, I don't think they don't care.

The VA hospital in Seattle Washington?

The VA hospital in Seattle Washington?

For me? I work in the VA in Boston.

Totally discouraged too. I don't guess it's possible to actually work as a nurse and get this scholarship :(

What is going on guys? why they took so long to announce the result ? Any ARNP recently received notification?

Nothing for me either. Application is still pending review.

So no other "waves" have happened then? Is this really it?

Does anyone know from previous years how many times do they send out finalist emails???

So far with us, once right? The 20th?

Losing hope.....

I know it long process and so boring. But let just relax and wait quietly- Because probably they will start sending the second wave after Tuesday.

Thats my same worry. I currently work in the VA and I'm not sure if it qualifies but I know that a lot of places that qualify are like community health clinics, rural hospitals and places like that. Im hoping that the VA will be allowed, if not, I'm in the same boat.

The VA nearby me has a HPSA score of 14 which is the minimum requirement. Double check but I would think that many VA's fall underneath the category. Many of the places I searched in my state miss the score of 14 cutoff by one or two points. As was stated earlier, almost every small community clinic has a high enough score however, many of them aren't hiring RNs (only LPNs).

Even though my documents were in order, I submitted my application at the very last minute. I'm not sure if that affected mt chances but everything was in on time. Since then I have been sitting on pins and needles and constantly checking my email. Really trying to be hopeful that answers will come this week.....

Anyone hear anything this morning?
