Nurse Corps Scholarship 2018-2019

Hi Everyone, I'm planning to apply for the HRSA NurseCorp Scholarship this year. I figured I would go ahead and start the next thread for this award year. I'm currently finishing up some of my prereqs and will be starting my BSN program in June. I know the application date hasn't been released yet but from what I have seen on other threads, it should be opened sometime in March/April with a deadline in May. I've also read that the prompt questions have been the same from one award year to the next so I have begun working on them as well as trying to figure out who I would like to use as recommendations. I would love to hear from all who plan to apply this year.

I don't think we'll hear back until the 30th, that's what I heard. I know that if you got the finalist email and accepted it, you'll get it.

Does anyone have any idea what is the process once you have signed the contract. How long does it take? How do they determine ORC? Anything info really?

We will receive more information once all decisions have gone out on or after Sept. 30. ORC is determined by our schools, we have no say in how much that amount is.

I was told that we won't receive anymore information until all decisions have been made. If you've turned in the W4 and enrollment verification, then we just sit tight for now until Sep 30.

Hi everyone, I was just sent a finalist email and am in the process of completing all the required documents to send back in. A little nervous because they only gave me til 9/3 (Labor Day) to get it done which means I need to hear back from my school for the Enrollment Verification forms by either today or tomorrow! For the W4, do we need to put the employer info on there or will they do it themselves? Thanks!

They'll do it themselves. I just put my name and SSNand the number of allowances.

What kind of information they will ask if you are selected ? Please tell me what information we have to submit?

Bank info for direct deposit, W4, an enrollment verification form for this fall and the summer semester. That's all I had to fill out and sign. My status is "in final review". We won't hear from them again until 9/30 but I asked previous recipients if everyone who is selected and accepts the award gets the scholarship and they said yes.

Thank you! I know it's not a guarantee of acceptance as a recipient but I am thankful that I get to move forward as a finalist!
