Hi all. I'm graduating in May with my FNP. I'm crippled with fear that I won't find a job. When should I start applying to places?? I'm a NURSE corps scholar so I have to work somewhere with a HPSA > 14. Living in OR, outside Portland. Tips please. I'm doing my final rotations at large family practice clinic if that matters at all.

How will you provide primary care services (what the scholarship is intended for) by specializing in acute care?

Has anyone heard back after submitted the W4 & enrollment form after receiving the finalist email?

Don't get excited about a credit check. This is my third year applying and I've received a credit check each year and no offer.

Hi nurse family, I'm a recent RN grad (nursing is a second career for me) and I've been offered a position in a LTC facility part-time while I complete my online master's. 76 beds and three nurses at a time (with 7 CNAs). I'm afraid to take my first nursing job and was wondering if anyone could offer words of wisdom/guidance for a new nurse in LTC.

This will be my third time applying. I'm an FNP student. Don't mean to be pessimistic but don't get your hopes up. It's about a 9% chance anyone gets the scholarship. But hey third times the charm?!?

Honestly, you need to reconsider if this is the path for you. Stop making excuses regarding why you did so poorly. You are placing your patients and fellow staff members at risk if you are not capable enough to pass this exam. The exam is designed to weed out students who can not excel in nursing in order to protect patients.

This girl in my program with my SAME stats received the award and I didn't. This is so *** up. I have to return home now and maybe start next year because now I can't afford school.
