Nurse Corps Scholarship 2018-2019

Hi Everyone, I'm planning to apply for the HRSA NurseCorp Scholarship this year. I figured I would go ahead and start the next thread for this award year. I'm currently finishing up some of my prereqs and will be starting my BSN program in June. I know the application date hasn't been released yet but from what I have seen on other threads, it should be opened sometime in March/April with a deadline in May. I've also read that the prompt questions have been the same from one award year to the next so I have begun working on them as well as trying to figure out who I would like to use as recommendations. I would love to hear from all who plan to apply this year.

They said nurse corps only notify on Monday's, wanted to know if that was actually true.

yes on credit karma equifax it said it was pulled aug 21 as a hard inquiry . But it showed up yesterday.

Does anyone have any idea what is the process once you have signed the contract. How long does it take? How do they determine ORC? Anything info really?

So....it's Monday, closer and closer to September, and ultimate deadline, and next Monday is Labor Day! Afraid to check email, as last 10 checks this morning have yielded NO notification for me! Very hard to stay patient and positive! Any one else hear any news?

Nothing for me either :/ are we sure that there even will be another wave of decisions? I'm thinking there might just be a few more offered once they process those who've accept/decline awards. Idk I know everyone always says to stay positive but also don't want to have unrealistic expectations

Don't lose hope! I don't thin the "Mondays only" statement was accurate. I just scrolled through last year's thread, and the first wave of acceptances came on a Friday. I think we still have a chance :) Good luck everyone!

Just an observation. I know that we all thought that they send out notifications after the website goes down, but the first wave didn't happen for a few weeks after the website went down. (The website went down, I think on 7/26 and I didn't get the notification until 8/20.) So just beware and not go strictly by the website being down. I don't think anyone expected the email on the 20th, I thought it would've come sooner than that.

Do notifications go out to those that are NOT offered scholarship? Would be nice to know one way or another. And have any PMHNPs received award? I thought there was going to be increased awards for psych....but maybe that was for the other scholarship?

Yes - we'll have a definite answer (offered or not) by Sept 30.
