Nurse Corps Scholarship 2018-2019

Hi Everyone, I'm planning to apply for the HRSA NurseCorp Scholarship this year. I figured I would go ahead and start the next thread for this award year. I'm currently finishing up some of my prereqs and will be starting my BSN program in June. I know the application date hasn't been released yet but from what I have seen on other threads, it should be opened sometime in March/April with a deadline in May. I've also read that the prompt questions have been the same from one award year to the next so I have begun working on them as well as trying to figure out who I would like to use as recommendations. I would love to hear from all who plan to apply this year.

Did anyone realize that they just added this?

"The National Health Service Corps (NHSC) Scholarship Program will commence the application verification process. Applications found with deficiencies or missing information will not qualify for review. For further guidance please refer to the 2018 Application and Program Guidance.

If you are no longer interested in the 2018 National Health Service Corps (NHSC) Scholarship Program award, please click the button below to withdraw your application. Once you withdraw your application, your online application will be removed from consideration and no longer eligible for award."

I am pretty sure that entire part has always been there. I don't remember the entire wording precisely, but I remember the majority of it.

I received a capital one credit check, wasn't CREDCO but I haven't applied for anything either and someone previously mentioned capital one as well. Odd. I just want this to be over with already :( I'm tired of constantly checking my email and page!!! Sheesh....

I tried checking to see what the check was for but I couldn't tell. I've been checking my credit karma after getting that notification and I haven't seen anything either. I think it was from them (that's what I'm praying for).

Yeah. I just got a notification yesterday, Monday and tuesday. I have no idea for what, but yeah. Fingers crossed and prayers up.

I have only applied for Nurse Corps and haven't recieved any type of credit check and no application status change.

Just spoke to a lady at hrsa and she says they've started sending our emails but that they do a little at a time because there's thousands of applications but we should hear back late August or September. Kind of generic... I called because the website has been on and off down since Friday!

I talked to a rep today and she informed me that there is no specific timeline or guide for credit checks so if you have not received one yet don't worry. Also she said she hasn't gotten any calls from recipients as of yet. And this could mean they are still under the review process. Also if they sent of loads of award letters I would expect at least some applicants to inform us on this thread. So just keep optimistic everyone!
