Nurse Corps Scholarship 2018-2019

Published

Hi Everyone, I'm planning to apply for the HRSA NurseCorp Scholarship this year. I figured I would go ahead and start the next thread for this award year. I'm currently finishing up some of my prereqs and will be starting my BSN program in June. I know the application date hasn't been released yet but from what I have seen on other threads, it should be opened sometime in March/April with a deadline in May. I've also read that the prompt questions have been the same from one award year to the next so I have begun working on them as well as trying to figure out who I would like to use as recommendations. I would love to hear from all who plan to apply this year.

Can everyone share their statistics?

Mine:

Undergrad GPA: 3.75

Grad GPA: 4.0

EFC: 7000 :/

lived my whole life in an underserved community and hope to practice in an underserved community as an Oncology NP

i know my efc is high and I'm not even sure uf it's possible to get this scholarship as a currently employed RN, but I would love to work part-time while I complete my program.

Estimated graduation: August 2019.

undergrad GPA: 3.91

EFC: 0

Volunteer experience: Salvation Army, Habitat for Humanity, Local Homeless Shelter

More than five years of healthcare experience in public state hospital

Enrolling in nursing program next month

Just curious-

But what are everyone's plans to pay for school if they do not get the scholarship?

GPA: 3.93

EFC: 0

If I don't get the scholarship (God forbid), I'm applying for a personal loan. Finger crossed if won't come to that.

If all else fails, i'll utilize the tuition reimbursement option offered by my job. There is only a six month commitment in exchange, but still..this scholarship is an offer one just can't refuse! It would certainly be nice!

Where are you logging on to see if you are "under review" or what your status is? I log on to HRSA.gov and still can't seem to find it. I only get my application ID. No status.

Your best bet is calling them in the morning. But, I think that means your application was not completed fully and not submitted for review.
