Greetings!
After binge reading the thread for 2015-2016, I decided it's time to start one for this year. I am a single mother opting to pursue a BSN after a post-quarter life crisis. Because I have multiple degrees, I have just about exhausted all of my financial aid options. I would like to hear from anyone applying for the scholarship. What's your story? What are your stats? Previous applicants and recipients I would like to hear your story too!
Starting at a private nursing school in May (with what little fin. aid I have left)
1 year AmeriCorps
1 year internship at group home for at-risk adolescents
5 years working with Dept. of Corrections (2.5 of which were counseling offenders)
EFC: 544
GPA: 3.9
Community service hours: 45
Location: GA
Really? Oh no! I thought they started happening around the end of June/ Early July. I haven't even thought about checking yet!
Hopefully they haven't yet but I was able to check once for free at the website I mentioned and nothing was there. Maybe we should wait till mid July and check again surely they would have done it by then right? I'm so nervous
1324 ECF4.0 GPA
3.5 years as CNA in Med-Surg/ICU
Years of volunteer experience for several different causes
I know I have a decent chance but I just need some reassurance!
Im lacking in the volunteer experience but have a 4.0 and efc of 0. So were all just hoping for the best my ASN program is $40k+ and need this so bad on top of the federal grants I'm already eleigable for. So stressful waiting! I wish you good luck!
Scoring Criteria for this year. Looks like they have until June 28th 2016 to finish review #1 and then till July 5th 2016 for review #2.

Wow thanks for those links I wish I found the criteria for reviewing our applications before I turned it in! Didn't know they had this available! But after reading I think I did good.
