After binge reading the thread for 2015-2016, I decided it's time to start one for this year. I am a single mother opting to pursue a BSN after a post-quarter life crisis. Because I have multiple degrees, I have just about exhausted all of my financial aid options. I would like to hear from anyone applying for the scholarship. What's your story? What are your stats? Previous applicants and recipients I would like to hear your story too!
Starting at a private nursing school in May (with what little fin. aid I have left)
1 year AmeriCorps
1 year internship at group home for at-risk adolescents
5 years working with Dept. of Corrections (2.5 of which were counseling offenders)
I think it is just site maintenance. Others have gotten it as well and then it starts acting right again. Try logging in with a different browser. I was getting it with IE but not Chrome.
I start school Monday I have just accepted I'm not getting awarded at this point and moving on. I will have to pay my school $100 a month towards tuition while I'm not working.. It sucks I really could have used the help I guess my 4.0 and volunteering and 5 years of CNA work just wasn't enough to get awarded for my ASN program it's alright I'll figure it out but would have been nice
I understand your disappointment. This is my second time applying. The first time was for my Accelerated BSN program and this time for a DNP program which I thought was 1st tier but found out afterwards was actually not the first tier. Its disappointing because I'm sure we are all deserving of the scholarship there just aren't enough funds for everyone. Good luck with everything.
Your right thanks for the info. I called the site support service and he told me that some browsers don't work well with the site. He told me to try Chrome. He also told me my application still says under review.

Maybe for the ones who got their credit checked. Mine was not checked on July 15th or anytime after.

Yes, I am when I try to login with Chrome but it works when I logged in on Internet Exploer. At least that was how it was yesterday, I haven't tied yet today because I've been so busy shopping, prepping and freezing food to eat over the next couple weeks while I start my med-Surg and behavioral health clinicals! Ahh one more week!

But I went back through this forum to look at the dates people said they were awarded... Tuesday 7/26, Friday 7/29, Tuesday 8/9, Wednesday 8/10, Friday 8/12, & Monday 8/15. I'm hoping another wave goes out this week, but I know there's no real pattern to this.
Hey, even if you dont get the award you've decided to become someone who will care and hopefully make a difference in someones life both medically and personally! your decision to pursue a career in nursing really shows us who you are as a person and you sir are amazing! We shouldn't ever give up hope and i know it might seem hard at the moment ( im not going to sugar coat it) it really sucks but you dont know what else life has in store for you. Just go ahead and become one of the awesome healthcare providers are communities need ! :)
Hi All! I haven't posted in a while, so I figured I would update everyone. I spoke to someone from the hotline today because the HRSA website is still saying "Error" every time I log in, and I wanted to get that resolved. She told me that all of the funds have not been given yet, and they are still sending award emails. Again, I'm not sure how reliable that is, especially since it seems that every time one of us calls, they give us the blanket, "September 30th" answer, or say that they don't have that information, but it still is a little bit of hope to cling to! lol I did receive a credit check on July 15th, but as of tonight, my account still says it is under review. My school wants some form of payment this Friday, so I am freaking out trying to get my second option in place. I feel the struggle of everyone still waiting! Just figured I would let everyone know that someone on the hotline said that not all of the funds have been given! :)
I noticed my contract was signed by Jamie Ofam approver on Aug.19th. Has anyone else noticed this that is a finalist? have any of the finalist received the participation email yet? Anxiously awaiting for mine!!!
