After binge reading the thread for 2015-2016, I decided it's time to start one for this year. I am a single mother opting to pursue a BSN after a post-quarter life crisis. Because I have multiple degrees, I have just about exhausted all of my financial aid options. I would like to hear from anyone applying for the scholarship. What's your story? What are your stats? Previous applicants and recipients I would like to hear your story too!
Starting at a private nursing school in May (with what little fin. aid I have left)
1 year AmeriCorps
1 year internship at group home for at-risk adolescents
5 years working with Dept. of Corrections (2.5 of which were counseling offenders)
June 14th is probably the other scholarship. I don't see why Nurse Corp would check your credit before they finished reviewing applications. I could be wrong. But haven't seen anyone else say they did that.
I called today and was told that everyone receives a credit check and that it's not an indication that you will be selected. Do we think this is true? I had started getting my hopes up since my credit was pulled

Maybe they just say that so that they don't have to answer follow up questions from us! LOL
Andplusalso, wouldn't that mean everyone in this forum would have gotten a check? Unless they're credit checking in waves... but then the waves are already made, which means they already have the order in which emails will be sent.. So by default them saying everyone is getting a check could be true... if by everyone they mean everyone who will be sent an email. Right? Okay, I'm overthinking and overtired. Going to bed now...
So im assuming that the students in the np program will hear first so therefore their credit checks were first. But BSN who are full time and have a efc lower then 5000, is also first priority as well. So my question is, have any of you that are in the bsn program been credit checked yet?

I am an ABSN student (starting this fall) and have an EFC of 0.
My Equifax report on Credit Karma shows a credit inquiry by CREDCO on July 15th now! It finally updated!! When I checked annualcreditreport.com, I only checked Transunion. I should've checked all 3 reports that were available. For those who think they haven't been credit checked, it might just not be showing up where you are checking!
I'm an ABSN student with an EFC of 0. They contact people based on their application score. Beginning with the highest. I have been checked for credit on the 15th.
