Nurse Corps loan repayment 2015

Nurses General Nursing

Published

Hi everyone,

I am currently working on the application for the nurse corps repayment program 2015 and I need some help from someone who has also done this process before.

My question is in regards to the documents you have to upload:

1# Authorization to Release Information, Authorization to Release Employment Information- Do you print these off, sign, scan, and then upload to the site?

2# Curriculum Vitae/Resume- is this just a basic resume stating your current position you hold, and do you address it to the Nurse Corps??

3# Finally, proof of citizenship can I just scan my drivers license and then upload it to the application???

I would appreciate all insight please, I want to make sure I get this right the first time. Thanks ahead of time for looking I really do appreciate it.

Good questions. I would also like to know about questions #1 & #2.

In regards to #3, proof of citizenship cannot be drivers license because that isn't proof of "citizenship". If you have a US passport or some other document showing citizenship? At least that's what I think.

A driver's license will prove identity, but I think a birth certificate and/or Social Security card should prove citizenship. Just a guess!

Hi, I recently applied for the repayment and for the auth. to release info, you will have to print them both, sign, and scan as a pdf document to upload. Passport or social security cards are proof of citizenship. I believe the program/guidance says whats needed for the resume. I believe its all jobs in relation to nursing and education. They may require a couple of other things. Hope this helps. Good luck. I am also applying for the NHSC loan repayment and have to start that process.

I am also currently applying and used the new method that allows you to auto upload federal loan information. I have loans from a prior degree that were also pulled in and I can't see a way to delete them. When you open the loans, it clearly states which were paid to my nursing school and which were for my prior degree but I don't want them thinking I'm trying to "work the system" to get all my loans covered. Does anyone know if this is an issue? I've e-mailed the help address but it's a two business day wait and I'd like to get my app in asap.

Thanks for any guidance! And good luck all!

Are you not working with a recruiter? They answer all the questions and you need to do what they say, not someone on a message board. If you are submitting a packet you are working with a recruiter. You do what THEY say.

I haven't heard from or talked to a recruiter as I haven't submitted yet. I've just been putting together my online application. This was a question to be asked PRIOR to submitting information to prevent having to resend things.

Does any one have a sense if awards are ever made to tier 3 applicants?

I don't think tier 3 made the cut for funds the last couple of years. I would say...still apply. You never know the outcome

What is the typical debt to income ratio for recipients? Im seeing all these people who were rewarded with d/I ratios of 200%+ . Has anyone ever been awarded with a d/I ratio less than 100%?

How do you know what tier your in? Is there a site to look?

I believe the application explains the tiers, based on the hpsa score and percentage of loans vs salary. Its very easy to group your tier after you review the wording in the application.
