Hi Everyone,

I didn't see a thread created for the 2019 Nurse Corps Loan Repayment Program yet. This will be my 3rd year applying. I'm applying as a staff RN with a HPSA score of 17. Hopefully, they open the application cycle soon.

That's awesome!! Gosh makes me really feel hopeless now though haha never received that last time and still not this time. Really hope you get it!!

No don't feel like hopeless!. I did apply for the NHSC SUD LRP and they have been moving pretty fast with that program. My co-work did receive the second signature last week so he is now a participant! I'm jealous of him right now LOL!

Dear Applicant,

We have reviewed your FY 2019 National Health Service Corps (NHSC) Loan Repayment Program (LRP) application, and you have been selected as a finalist for an award. Please note that this is not a guarantee of an award, as NHSC LRP awards are subject to the availability of funds .

At this time, we are requesting that you confirm or deny your continued interest in a loan repayment award by 06/17/2019. Please log into your Application Portal Account to review the information you provided on your application and verify whether the information on the Confirmation of Interest (COI) is still accurate. If the information is correct, please check the "accept" box on the COI form.

If you no longer wish to receive NHSC LRP funding, please log into your Application Portal Account and check the "decline" box on the COI. You may click on the portal link here: https://programportal.hrsa.gov:443/extranet/application/nhsclrp/ or copy the link and enter it into your Internet browser.

If we do not receive your completed COI by 06/17/2019, we will assume that you are no longer interested in an NHSC LRP award and your application may be withdrawn from consideration. If you elect to apply in the future, you must submit a new application during our next application cycle for first-time participants and compete with other providers based on program requirements in effect at that time.

If you have any questions, please contact the Customer Care Center at 1-800-221-9393 (TTY: 1-877-897-9910) Monday through Friday (except federal holidays) from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. ET.

Sincerely,
National Health Service Corps Loan Repayment Program

I think from what I read earlier they were people that applied to the SUD one? I may be wrong though

The people who had two credit checks did you get an offer?

So far I have had only one credit check at end of May, and nothing since ? I'm still holding out hope but its looking bleak. Best of luck to everyone!

Nurse Corps applicant here- 2 credit checks but no offer, no word.

I think there’s people with 2 credit checks in the past that did not receive the offer.

I wonder makes them do credit checks versus one. That is odd

Don’t fret! For the nurse corps they are just now making the 3rd year continuation contract approvals! Then they move on to the initial two year contract approvals. I got my email for the 2 year contract in August. Just make sure you check your email daily because they ask you to confirm interest and you only have 3 days to respond! Then you officially hear if you’ve received and award in September and payments start in October. Hopefully this helps someone rest a little easier!

Thank you. Do they typically do more than one credit check? Or do they just do one. I am hopefully not going to take another hit to my credit- I am thinking about consolidating if I don’t get it that’s why. The higher the score the better the rate.

I actually didn’t pay any attention to if they checked my credit so I have no idea how many times it was done. ? but the credit checks are them checking to make sure you have been paying your loans. I would guess it’s a soft pull rather than a hard pull

Nursing Instructor here waiting on continuation contract approval. Now I am nervous because I haven't heard anything and my status still shows under review. :(
