Hi all,
I've been reading up on the Nurse Corps Loan Repayment Program and looks like in past years, threads have been started for the yearly application process. I'll be applying as a Staff RN (non-faculty) working at a DSH with an HPSA Score of 16. Not sure of my DTI percentage yet. Hoping to connect with others that will be applying to the program next month and we can all share our updates here. Best of luck to everyone!
Hey guys! Just happened to see this. I was awarded last year. I'm faculty. My DTI ratio was ~140 or 150% (can't remember). The debt only includes student loans specific to your nursing degree. Other student loans are disqualified which can lower your ratio. It does not matter if the loans are private or federal. The income is solely your base income the employer reports. It doesn't include shift diffs, bonuses, etc. HRSA does not have a problem with consolidation as long as there is a method to differentiate other loans from your nursing loans.Last year had a credit check in May, heard I was a finalist in late July, got a counter signature in mid to late August, and first deposit in September. Good luck everyone! This award has certainly been a blessing
Thank you. Your post has been helpful
My credit was checked twice, I did apply for both. I was received the email for NHSC. My Nurse Corps status automatically changed to "declined award." I would have broke even either way so I was hoping for this one, I'm not over the moon yet because I know in prior years some have gotten the finalist email and then not gotten awarded.
