Hi all,
I've been reading up on the Nurse Corps Loan Repayment Program and looks like in past years, threads have been started for the yearly application process. I'll be applying as a Staff RN (non-faculty) working at a DSH with an HPSA Score of 16. Not sure of my DTI percentage yet. Hoping to connect with others that will be applying to the program next month and we can all share our updates here. Best of luck to everyone!
I'm also an NP, and I received my finalist email earlier this week. I was about to sign my contract, but I, too, noticed that it said "2 Year Contract for RN." And now the Call Center is closed for the weekend. For other NP finalists that received an "RN contract," did you go ahead and sign it? Or did they tell you to wait to sign it until they send you a new ARNP contract? Thanks!
Received a finalist email yesterday. NP, DTI>200%, site score 16.However, when I went to sign my contract it stated '2 Year Contract for RN.' I applied as an NP and my employer submitted the verification as an NP. I called and they said they would send me a new contract soon, but I just want everyone to be aware!
I was referencing this post with my comment just now.
I received the email last night! I was completely overwhelmed with happiness. I was about to sign when I realized that I have the 2 year RN contract. When I found out they are closed until Monday I have been searching the internet. I'm curious what you hear. Sign and tell them Monday? or try to patiently wait... I don't want to loose this.
I called and talked to them about the 2-year RN contract and signing when we are ARNPs, they stated the following... so yes go ahead and sign!
"Good day,
The Nurse Corp Loan Repayment Program has two applications RN's including advanced practice nurses (APRNs), Nurse Pratitioners NPs and the NF (nurse faculty).
I hope this information is helpful.
Thank you,
Customer Service Support"
Hi everyone. I'm very thankful to say I received a finalist email on 8/24/18! I'm wondering if anyone knows about consolidating/refinancing loans after accepting the award. I would assume it would be okay to refinance the approved educational loans with another lender at a lower rate, but I wasn't sure if it's allowed or frowned upon? If anyone knows, I would really appreciate it!
