2018 Nurse Corps Loan Repayment Program

Hi all,

I've been reading up on the Nurse Corps Loan Repayment Program and looks like in past years, threads have been started for the yearly application process. I'll be applying as a Staff RN (non-faculty) working at a DSH with an HPSA Score of 16. Not sure of my DTI percentage yet. Hoping to connect with others that will be applying to the program next month and we can all share our updates here. Best of luck to everyone!

Question, for the 2 credit checks--were they done on the same day?

I only had one completed, and trying to figure out if it was for NHSC or LRP.

Close to the same boat as you. NP site score 17 and a DTI of 190%. Credit checks done in April. Anxiously awaiting!

I received notification of NHSC finalist today! I am so happy!! First time applicant, FNP, HPSA 17, DTI 115%. Completed my application and now waiting signature. I applied for both, so this made me ineligible for Nurse Corps ( more of a chance for others). For the people awarded how long did it take for signature? When was the loan dispersed?

Was it two separate dates for the credit check?

Does not seem that a great deal of awards for the NELRP have gone out yet for RN's, so still hope I suppose. I did not get a credit check, last year I had 2 credit checks. HPSA 17, D/I 180%.

I am anxiously waiting to hear from HRSA... but I am concerned because of my credit history. Can anyone tell me, or PM me of that is better: have you been awarded and have poor credit?? I'm really working on mine but when I noticed they pulled my credit, there was 1 loan defaulted (personal loan not anything school related) and credit card debt. I am very nervous thinking this will make me ineligible.

For the people who were rewarded the NHSC, how long did it take to get countersigned? Did anyone already receive the lump sum? Does anyone know people who became finalist did not get awarded?

RNs have been the last ones awarded in the past.
Recieved finalist email today for Nurse Corps! I am an RN D/I approx 200% HPSA 14 I believe. Hoping to receive the counter signature soon so that the wait is all over! This is a life changer! Good Luck everyone!
