2017 Nurse Corps Loan Repayment Program

Hi Fellow Nurses!

Is anyone else anxiously awaiting the 2017 cycle opening?

I have applied several times and praying that 2017 is my year. I'm tier 1 - not faculty and not an NP.

Is anyone else out there?

Odd, if NPs get 50% of the award how is it that the NPs haven't heard anything??

I only had 1 credit check in April.

Still waiting as well. NP, 121%, site score 16, credit check 6/5. Praying!

I have both and both qualify

My guess is they're waiting to do NPs last because they are the biggest group. It appears that they are going group by group (i.e. faculty, RNs, etc.). Probably easier to knock out the smaller sections. I suspect NPs will start hearing back soon.

I have been following this trend since my first application for the loan repayment program last year. I applied last yr and was not awarded. Reapplied this year, my credit was checked twice. I am an NP in the North West, serving in a rural area. I just got my award email yesterday and accepted the offer this morning. My DTI ratio is over 200, and my site score is 17. I wish everyone the best and keep the hope alive.

It seems that you get the email around 12 -1 am each so each morning I eagerly check my email. I am still waiting, just a credit check and under review, RN Tier 1, D/I 160%, HPSA 17. The process is crazy and some are awarded with less D/I, but it is probably due to an error in the application is all I can think.

Just keep applying each year, next year I will apply and try to forget about it until August!!

yay congrats! I am NP and was checked twice as well, fingers crossed!

Congrats. If you don't mind me asking what time was you notified?

So does (or is) your credit usually checked twice in order to receive an award? Now I'm nervous and dejected.

My credit was only checked once and I received an award.

Just got email notification for reward. HRSA loan for NP primary care. Facility is rated 16. Not sure I buy the D/I ratio for this type of loan - I don't think it matters. I think the thing that made the biggest difference was getting my application in the day the cycle opened. Also never had a credit check.
