Hi Fellow Nurses!
Is anyone else anxiously awaiting the 2017 cycle opening?
I have applied several times and praying that 2017 is my year. I'm tier 1 - not faculty and not an NP.
Is anyone else out there?
Are the majority of RNs and other APRN (not NPs) responding on here from CSFs or DSHs??? Because 30% is equally split between the 2 types of facilities. That may be why some with a larger D/I ratio or higher tier does not get awards when others with lower D/I ratios are getting awards.
I'm a CRNA at a CSF (I think). Honestly CSF vs. DSH has always confused me. How is it determined? Nonetheless, I haven't heard anything. Just a credit check on June 5th.

DSH = Disproportionate Share Hospitals serve a significantly disproportionate number of low-income patients and receive payments from the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services to cover the costs of providing care to uninsured. (Usually in urban setting).
CSF= A Critical Shortage Facility is a health care site located in a Health Professional Shortage Area that provides primary medical care or mental health care to underserved populations. (Usually in rural setting).
Hello everyone,
I am a new grad working in an FQHC for the past 14 months. I received a finalist email Thursday and must respond today. The money is very persuasive (84,000 over two years) but I honestly don't know if I can stay in this job for two more years. I want to grow and move into hospital work. The weblink for critical shortage facilities is broken on the HRSA site. Could anyone speak to the idea of moving into a hospital setting within the NurseCorps program?
Thank you!
