Nurse Corps Loan Repayment 2016 Cycle

Hello All,

I am applying for the nurse corps loan repayment program 2016 cycle, I just spoke to a representative who told me the application cycle opens up tomorrow. For those of you who have applied any tips advice etc.? I am very excited about this opportunity because I have an outrageous amount of loans.

My contract was signed 9/1 and I am still waiting for status to change. My coworker who signed on the day before me has already received her welcome packet.

HI. I was countrrsigned on 9/7 as well. Still no email nor a portal change. I'm ready to get this party started!

Does anyone know if my employer will be contacted a 2nd time after I've received a finalist email and the countersign has occured? My finalist status is still the same.

They did not contact my employer a 2nd time I even asked our HR staff, I was countersigned on 9/7 and received my welcome email packet on 9/11.

RN still Under Review I am 99% sure there is NO nope left for this cycle, have any RN's received a finalist email in the last few days? I assume all awards have been given already.

I sent an email just to see and prepare for next year if I decide to try again!! I asked about the application and received this really strange reply in regards to who is funded and how they decide. the response from BHW Customer Care Center:

For RNs, including advanced practice RNs such as NPs: Qualified applicants will be grouped into one of the funding preference tiers. An applicant's debt to salary ratio and the facility's HPSA score are used to determine the tier in which the applicant is placed.

This could mean that you or the other applicants did not properly justify their DTI. Another thing could be that maybe they lied about their HPSA, Salary or DTI to you. Applications are decided upon a committee and all decisions are final. Funding preferences can and will change each year. No awards are ever guaranteed.

I just received my welcome packet. I did find that they have my site point of contact without a email, and it's also not the person that I pUT to verify my employment. I think I'll email them about that on Monday

Had my contract countersigned on 9/7 and finally got my welcome package on 9/17!
