Nurse Corps Loan Repayment 2016 Cycle

Published

Hello All,

I am applying for the nurse corps loan repayment program 2016 cycle, I just spoke to a representative who told me the application cycle opens up tomorrow. For those of you who have applied any tips advice etc.? I am very excited about this opportunity because I have an outrageous amount of loans.

Finally got my welcome packet email yeah!!! This officially feels real, I really want to thank each and every one of you for being apart of this thread when I started this post I never would of thought it would be this many people with the same questions/struggles as me this has been a long year and I'm glad it's finally done!

Hi all,

I just found this thread, as I am losing all hope for my loan repayment application at this point...Does anyone know the likelihood that an RN can get awarded this late in the cycle...? I work (and have always worked) in a highly disparate population, and have large loans after obtaining my MSN from Duke. I also just sent my son to Dartmouth for his first term...so...I am really, really hopeful that some relief may be available for my student debt. I just wish I had some information--I never received a finalist notification as some have mentioned in this thread. Any advice would be welcome!

Finally got my co-sign today!!! WAHOOO!!!

Finally got my co-sign today!!! WAHOOO!!!

Congratulations!

Does anyone know if it actually takes the full 45 days for a disbursement?

My contract showed up as signed on 9/7/16, but my status is still "Accepted Award - Under Final Review". Is anybody else still waiting for their status to change? Did they contact your employer a second time?

Thanks! :)

My contract was signed 9/1 and I am still waiting for status to change. My coworker who signed on the day before me has already received her welcome packet.

I am under final review. How can you tell if you have been countersigned? Is it obvious? My homepage on BHW looks the same, and says I'm still under final review. Trying to stay positive and be hopeful, but the waiting game and not knowing is getting to me. Good luck to everyone in this boat as well.

When I clicked on the link for my signed contract, there was a signature from a OFAM Approver added to the very last page (under my electronic signature).

Thanks, I will look for that

I also was countersigned but no change yet. I keep checking.

Specializes in Utilization Review.

What is your HPSA and D/I? and your an RN correct, I am an RN, i have my MSN like you so lots of loans! HPSA 17, with D/I 150%, i am under review also.
