Nurse Corp Scholarship Finalist

Hello there. I was trying to look into older posts about older HRSA or Nurse Corp scholarship winners. I currently applied to the 2013-2014 cycle and attending a private nursing school. I have a EFC of 0 and basically none of my parents work. Just this past Wednesday I received and email congratulating me on being chosen for the Nurse Corp scholarship. I was pretty excited about the good news but the email also said I needed to accept the award. I went to the HRSA website and it is asking for additional information and at the top it says I am a finalist and the award is not guaranteed. My question is did I get the scholarship or not? The email and the website contradict each other. Have any of you applied for the scholarship? Any responses? I also called HRSA about the W-4 forms they are asking for and apparently they are having problems with that whole process. So yea any inquiries or comments would be REALLY helpful.

Hey!

I will have it up and running by tomorrow! My first wave of exams are under way so I am lost in my books until tomorrow!

Hi! Does anyone know the deal with the ORC payment and stipends? I talked to a rep on Monday and she said that we would receive payment by November 1st. That's a long time lol. However, HRSA took care of my tuition and fees last friday, about a week after my school submitted an invoice.

Yeah it really does seem like a long time. I believe they give you a lump sum of when your program year actually started and there is an ORC form to fill out for your school to check out to determine what constitutes reasonable payments.

Facebook group is up all!!! Got it set up tonight! You can find it by searching "Nurse Corps/ HRSA Scholarship Recipients" or following this link:

Yes they had some kind of difficulty being that this scholarship is fairly new in private schools. Congratulations btw.

Blessings!

Lol. Patience. The last thing that you want to happen is for them to mess up on your numbers.

How long did it take for your school to submit the invoice? I'm still waiting for my school to do so and it's been two weeks.

Hello! I know this is an old thread, but it was the only one I could find pertaining to this scholarship. I want to apply this Spring for the upcoming academic year. I recently got accepted into Emory University, but the tuition is astronomical...I was curious as to what programs you all are attending, and perhaps just a hint into your qualifications that went into your application (financial situation, volunteer/service, previous health background, second degree, private institution, full-time/part-time etc.) Again! Sorry about being so late on this, but any insight would be greatly appreciated! I really want to see if I have a shot (I believe I am a strong candidate) but like I said, insight is ALWAYS appreciated. Thank you so much!

I am in the same boat ! I hear its a long process but worth well of a wait ! So good luck to you!

I also got in to Emory and have been debating applying for it. I've heard it can be tough to land a job at an approved facility after graduation, so I am not sure I want my options limited this way. Have you heard anything contrary to this?

Hello everyone!

I am applying to the Nurse Corps Scholarship Program this year. My EFC is 003175...What do you think my chances of getting the scholarship are?
