Nurse Corp Scholarship Finalist

Hello there. I was trying to look into older posts about older HRSA or Nurse Corp scholarship winners. I currently applied to the 2013-2014 cycle and attending a private nursing school. I have a EFC of 0 and basically none of my parents work. Just this past Wednesday I received and email congratulating me on being chosen for the Nurse Corp scholarship. I was pretty excited about the good news but the email also said I needed to accept the award. I went to the HRSA website and it is asking for additional information and at the top it says I am a finalist and the award is not guaranteed. My question is did I get the scholarship or not? The email and the website contradict each other. Have any of you applied for the scholarship? Any responses? I also called HRSA about the W-4 forms they are asking for and apparently they are having problems with that whole process. So yea any inquiries or comments would be REALLY helpful.

From what I have read with past award recipients, we you receive the email they have chosen you for the award as long as you complete the information requested. Congrats. Did you receive a credit check from them as well?

Oh my. Really? Those are great news!! Well for additional information they asked for my checking account my w-4 which for a second I confused it with the W-2s and last thing on the list that I need to upload is the enrollment verification form. I have not heard of a credit check. It might come up once I submit those paper work?

More than likely they already performed one of you are will shortly as its apart of the application process. Once again congrats.

I got the same email and I am also confused about it stating your are a finalist. When I called the customer service line they say sorry you got that email. You do not have it yet!! What?? Do I or Don't I have a scholarship?? The guy from customer service stated sorry about the confusion "but it is the government"??? I tel ya!! I am waiting and seeing at thispoint

I'm in the same boat as you. From what the rep told me, they are in the process of getting our documents ready for the secretary of health to sign off on. She said that we should be fine, but it's def confusing. I just want the final OK so i can be at peace!! :)

I'm trying to relax about it. From what I've read, they appear to do it the same way every year. It looks like if you get the email, you get the award, but it's not official until all your forms clear. That's what I'm telling myself, anyway.

Agreed. I pray about it every night. I'm starting to get paranoid lol. I'm still unclear about when the awards will actually begiven to our schools. People in my program are discussing their payment options(loans, etc.) on our FB group page and I'm kind of just waiting, hoping that we get information soon, as I am about to solidify my housing and start purchasing supplies,books, uniforms, etc. I hope the process occurs more quickly and smoothly than last year. I'm definitely NOT complaining, just a little concerned.Can't wait to get the final OK :).

I guess we all share this paranoid feeling of did we get it or not. They should be more clear!!

My mom won't rest until the official letter comes! And neither can I! It's all just nerve-wrecking! I need this scholarship! I am praying on it that everything will go great!
