Hello there. I was trying to look into older posts about older HRSA or Nurse Corp scholarship winners. I currently applied to the 2013-2014 cycle and attending a private nursing school. I have a EFC of 0 and basically none of my parents work. Just this past Wednesday I received and email congratulating me on being chosen for the Nurse Corp scholarship. I was pretty excited about the good news but the email also said I needed to accept the award. I went to the HRSA website and it is asking for additional information and at the top it says I am a finalist and the award is not guaranteed. My question is did I get the scholarship or not? The email and the website contradict each other. Have any of you applied for the scholarship? Any responses? I also called HRSA about the W-4 forms they are asking for and apparently they are having problems with that whole process. So yea any inquiries or comments would be REALLY helpful.
I guess by seeing that everyone seems to have heard something by now, that if I haven't heard anything....I can assume I did not get the award. Depressing for me, but congratulations to the rest of you. I guess I will just have to continue working 40 hours a week while finishing out the last 2 years of the BSN program.... Lol. No blessings for me. Bummer. Anyhow. Congratulations you all!!
Hello folks! Well hopefully I can clear the air for some of you.
I am currently in the Nurse Corps Scholarship Program. It was a long process, just be sure to follow EVERYTHING they ask for. They emailed me and said my first stipend check will be a lump sum dating back from when I first stared my BSN program which was this past July 2013. I will be receiving the check in the month of November as a lump sum. Then, for every month after that, I will be getting the monthly stipend which is about $1200 before taxes.
If any f you have any questions or concerns, feel free to rite m.
Just remember, Never Give Up!
Blessings!

Great. Good to hear the process moves faster once you receive the official email. My school is currently working on submitted my invoice for school(a week and counting) and have never dealt with Nurse Corps before. Did your school have any issues with submitting the information to them?

Hmm I am not sure. Was the profile picture of me with the bowtie? I hope I am add-able! Haha. Let me know if you have that problem again.
