Hey I was wondering who has applied to the Nursing Program @ Nova starting fall 2010?

I would like to know of any updates any one has heard on the process, interviews, etc.

Hey Danesc12, Of course you can IM me i use a Yahoo account if thats ok with you. My name is jna29. And we can share job info... my boss is well known and she is the one that is trying to pull for me at Nova, so everything is riding on me just getting in. Its a small world... I just called Nova today and they advised me that my app is on the pending pile since they cant make a sound decision without the completion of the MCB course... so far i am doing in the class but we will see, i have to think positive at all times because u just never know how they are looking at this :confused: we just all have to keep going... and yes all these tests is just crraazzzyyyyy :eek: hate them.

Alright jerziana29, thanks alot. So you called and they said that, well thats good. At least they got to view it and now they're just putting it on hold until you finish MCB, they could have made a decision right there you get me, at least thats good. Yup - that's the same thing I said, they haven't rejected you yet so that's good news. You're in a better situation than I was last term not only because you're taking one pre-req vs. the 5 I was taking but also because your semester will be over right before Nova's deadline. In my case the deadline to apply was October and classes finished in December so of course I wasn't getting in!! LOL .. I called and they said I should give them at least 4 wks. before following up so I'm calling back next week .. lol .. I checked my mail yesterday and nothing so I'll just have to keep waiting :anbd: I went ahead and registered for a math class that I need in order to be able to apply to UM so we'll see. I'm also going to look into Keiser University. My cousin, who graduated from Barry last year & just recently got a job with Baptist, said a lot of the new nurses are from Keiser. If Nova doesn't accept me I'll take anything!! I just want to start already!!

Hey Mari!!! I agree, i am just starting to take a math class now in the summer term in order to speed it up with other schools since i am missing 2 math classes... I went to Keiser last week and in my opinion and of course this is solely just my opinion the program only accepts 25 students a semester and even though they have rolling admissions their classes get filled up pretty quick. Right now i was told by the advisor that they dont have any availability until May of 2011.. GEEEEZ!!! And its only an ASN program not a BSN.. but of course we can take whatever we can get you know. We just want to get in! I am also looking into Barry as well I am just looking into everywhere.. but Keiser for my was waaaay too much for an ASN program but thieir BSN after you're an RN is online. You have to pass whats called a Wonderlic test and then get scheduled for the Teas test after that... so its a process.. ALL the entrance exams are driving me nuts. But i hope that I have some glimmer of hope with my application due to the fact that my gpa like ive stated before is not the highest. So i hope they are looking at something else to get me by lol... Lets stay calm and just be patient... BUT I HATE IT! =)

OMG yes I was totally dissapointed when I looked up Keiser's nursing program!! I thought they offered the BSN degree like everyone else. 25 students ?? that's a joke!! I guess we'll have to stick to Nova, UM and Barry. I have a friend that's doing her nursing at City College but they only offer the ASN degree and its super expensive :uhoh3: My cousin that works at Baptists says they will only be hiring BSNs starting 2012 so we need to stick to that. I'm sure all other hospitals will follow the same trend.

Yeah!!! Super disappointing... you think they are not going to be as bad but then when you go its like a different world... I wont wait for an ASN degree to be accepted to Keiser, for that i bust my u know what and get into another university.... Its just scary to see how many ppl are actually opening up to this field. Some of them are even doing it for the wrong reasons.... which sucksssss:angthts: But positive is the right way to go right now and keeping our options open as well. Let see. :confused:

I called this morning and the lady I spoke to said my application is still pending and that I should check back next week. She said its going to be a while. They actually had me under the wrong program! Instead of entry-level they had me under RN to BSN :uhoh3: I did find out that the acceptance letters are no longer being mailed certified - they will arrive via regular mail. Guess I'll just have to keep waiting ... let me know if you hear anything!

Well mine I guess is pending also since im currently finishing some of the required courses. I will be done with them at the end of the month. Hopefully ill hear from them soon after that. Do you know if there has been any other acceptances? I am so anxious, since Nova is my first choice.

I finished my pre-reqs last semester but I have a friend who is taking micro and they told her they won't make a decision until the semester is over & they receive her final transcripts. For now just be glad you haven't been rejected because they have already sent out rejection & acceptance letters. When did you apply? I sent my paperwork in at the end of February. Did you apply anywhere else? I'm super anxious - I want to know already!!

Yes, they told me they would also wait til I sent my final transcripts. I also applied at the end of Feb. I only have applied to Nova, but now im thinking of looking into other schools since now no one knows what to expect of Nova. Hopefully we all hear something soon :)

Yeah Nova will not let me know anything until I finish Micro... i just want them to tell me already so that why i can move on and look into something else... so far I have not heard of anyone getting accepted yet. Almost everyone applied in Feb as well and nothing... they are probably swamped with apps.... I already registered for some courses in the summer as a backup to apply for other schools, because at this point who knows how long we will be waiting... Nova I heard takes a while to get back to you and get the process going. Knowing us we probably wont hear anything until June or something... makes me stomach turn i swear!!! :crying2: Just hang in there..... keep me posted... good luck AGAIN :redpinkhe:nurse:
