NSU EntryBSN Program Fall 2010

Hey I was wondering who has applied to the Nursing Program @ Nova starting fall 2010?

I would like to know of any updates any one has heard on the process, interviews, etc.

i called nova to see when will they begin reviewing the applications for winter 2011 the guy told me that today is there deadline to finish reviewing the files for the fall 2010 class and that all applicants will have a response by the end of next week and that as soon as they were done with the fall 2010 class they will begin on the winter 2011 class.

i thought this information would be useful for you guys.

lindalove: Thanks for the positive thinking about the Spring term... I feel a little better! I registered for 3 classes this fall at MDC anyway because i'm assuming I was denied and it wouldn't hurt my GPA. I'll re-apply as soon as Nova allows me to and i'll send the 3 final classes in December. I'm praying for all of us because I know it's a long journey for everyone, accepted or not. Just keep on going forward no matter what :)

kristou: I was the one who is applying for the second time and I'm still pending to hear form nova for fall 2010. I also work for baptist and its the first time I hear about them not doing the scholars program for spring! thanks for the info. I know the hospital has been doing lots of budget cuts, but I didn't think the scholars program was going to be effected. I will get contact with organizational learning this week and let everyone know what I find out. Thanks for this update, very useful.

Like the rest of you who are pending- linda, ralph, and npachon. I guess we will all be reapplying for Spring 2011 (my third attempt)- if we don't hear anything good by the end of next week. By the way, my VIP page admission status is still blocked off.

Hello everyone, I finally got my admissions package in the mail today..I opened it and call baptist to ask about the scholarship and they told me that yesterday was the deadline and that they wont accept any more app.. I ask them if they would extend the deadline for ppl who just got in and they said no, it was already. so I got lucked out with that...

For everyone that did not get in, i know how you feel b/c I just got denied at FIU so I know and they didnt even send me the email, they told me on the phone. Hopefully you will all hear something soon just try to come up with other plans just in case because any thing can happen. Good luck to you all...

Lilee:Sorry to hear about FIU not sending you any respond regarding your admission status, but I'm happy you were accepted to Nova at least :). Also, very sorry to hear about the scholars program!

Scholars info: As promised I got in contact with the scholars program at baptist and I got information to share with everyone. Originally, the deadline was June 1 for all applicants but they had extended the deadline till June 30 since Nova has been taking forever to make decisions- like Lilee said, they will not extend again. For all of us who are still pending, we lost our chance. We are welcome to talk to the director of the scholars program but she had already turned down many students. I explained our situation and is understanding but I don't know how much we can do. Also, I will wait calling to complain about this situation until we find out if we have been accepted to Nova. There is no use in fighting a battle without all the proper ammunition. So lets all wait for our official letters.

Either way, I also found out that although they are not going to have the scholars program available for spring term they will have the scholarship available every fall term for Nova. What they changed was the ability to apply for the scholarship each year (every term- fall and spring). Instead, baptist is only going to offer it once a year (in fall) for nova; the same rule applies to Barry. Therefore, here is the layout of how they are offering the scholarship (to whom and when):

MDC- ASN program (Spring terms only)

Barry University- for BSN (Fall Terms only )

Barry University- for MSN (Fall Terms only)

Barry University- For RN to BSN (Spring Terms only)

Nova University- Entry-level BSN (Fall Terms only)

Florida keys community college- ASN program (Fall and Spring Terms)

For some reason, They will continue to allow Florida keys community college the opportunity to have year round applicants. I hope this has cleared up some questions any of you had. Regardless, if you need any more info shoot me an email or private message.

Pending students: Linda, Ralph, npachon- have you guys heard anything yet? I still have yet to receive an email, letter or call. My VIP admission status is still blocked. I wondering if anything has changed for any of you. Also, when checking my VIP page it stated that NOVA is going to be closed july 3- july 5 due to the holiday. :confused: So I was wondering if I was the only one still pending since we are suppose to know by july 6.

Me too! but I think they close the office at 5:00pm on Fridays!! If you call, let me know.
