NSU EntryBSN Program Fall 2010

Published

Hey I was wondering who has applied to the Nursing Program @ Nova starting fall 2010?

I would like to know of any updates any one has heard on the process, interviews, etc.

thanks!! best of luck!!:p

I just got back from my baptist interview. It was more like a job interview than a scholarship. I hope everything goes well. Good luck to all that are still waiting.

I'm surprise to hear that they are still conducting interviews for the Baptist Scholarship. That's great. When will they make a decision? Has anyone been accepted to the Baptist Scholarship?

Kristou, I think this is the last week for interviews. They said it will take two weeks for an answer. I dont think anyone has been accepted yet.

Hello,

Congratulations to everyone that have been accepted so far. I hope that everyone on this blog gets good news. I need some advice. I am very interrested in the baptist scholarship. I have a 3.8 GPA. It should even be higher after the summer. I will be taking MCB 2010 in the fall. Should I apply to Nova's Winter 2010 class or should I wait to apply to the Fall 2011 class. Also, Barry has the same baptist scholarship I plan to also apply to barry, however, I will be applying to their fall 2011 class. Please advise.

Thank you.

Hello Kristou, I saw how you needed some help with the Baptist Application for NSU either winter (Jan) 2011 or fall 2011. Well I found out through Baptist that they will not be giving scholarships to Nova students for Winter term anymore, apparently they had to come up with a bugdet agreement. However, at least you can now narrow down your choice to applying to Barry and to Nova for Fall 2011 and then play your cards right and go with whomever accepts you. Goodluckkkk!

DaneSC12,

OMG. This is very helpful. Are you sure? If I understand they will not be giving scholarship for the winter term; however, they will give scholarship to both Universities for the Fall?

Thanks.

DaneSC12,

Thank you so much for this info. I immidiately called Nova and they told me it was not true. Of course, I went ahead and called Baptist and they told me it was completely true.

Also, for those of you waiting on acceptance letters, when I spoke to the lady at Baptist Hospital, she told me that today was the last day to send in applications for the Scholarship. Hope that helped.

when I spoke to a counselor about a month ago about baptist scholarships etc...he told me that students who were admitted would all have the opportunity to apply for the scholarship...we would all have an "equal" opportunity for the scholarship...due to the fact that some students have gotten admitted so late I highly doubt that will be possible.

I applied in February. Its now June 30th and on the eve of July 1st I highly doubt I will be receiving any good news any time soon...as most of you must feel..I want to be a nurse more than anything but in order to get to that independence and have my RN degree and be doing my "damn thing" I need to get into a program and get through it in one piece first...for those of us still waiting we must all remember that this isnt the end of the world. Its taken me a long time to be able to say or write those words especially since I've been in school FOREVER...we cannot worry about the things we have no control over ...we can only continue to follow our dreams and do our best..and keep knocking...if not BANGING on the doors of nursing programs until we can get through ...this will happen for all us ..don't fret :) xoxo

Hi Lindalove008,

I am so sorry for what you have been through; just about the fact that Nova has still not given you an answer. If you don't get in this fall, definately apply for the winter term. I think that Jerziana29 stated that it was her second time applying. Also, look into Barry, they have a similar program with Baptist Hospital; however, they required more classes than Nova. I hope everything works out in your favor.

Have a nice day.

thanks..no worries..we will all get there! :clown:

Hello everyone! I just had my baptist interview today as well like nursekitty did... and yes it was very rhetoric and for me it was more specific since i work for the system, however, they are being very specific on who they are investing their money is since they did have a budget cut. I didnt know that they were not offering the scholarship for the winter term... wow thats not good i wouldve been upset because you go to these schools to have a fair shake at these scholarship opportunities.... i feel for all of those waiting... today the scholarship dept advised me that they are conducting interviews through next week, next week will be their last week interviewing since they need to close up this term. I know that today was the last day to submit any applications to be considered for Baptist. After next week all those that are waiting should know whether or not we are accepted... no one gets accepted until after all interviews are done, so all have a fair chance... the waiting period never ends... hope this information helped...

Kristou, this was my first time applying to NSU....it seemed like ive applied a million times already with everything that i have gone through. I was giving up and just thinking i need to reapply for next term, so you need a PLAN B at all times since you never know. Its hard to get in anywhere right now and your dreams will all come true.. my heart goes out to all those still in the limbo..... prayers are with you and hope to see you in the fall. Goodluck again and keep us posted... hang in there guys. XOXO

Well, I haven't heard anything from Nova, so I'm gonna assume that my denial letter is on its way to my mail box pretty soon... I guess I'll have to go another round for next semester :(

npachon no worries! I'm right there with ya...it might be easier for us in the Spring term too..since the application rate isn't as big
